The Sims community has always been amicable when it comes to using in-game cheats, and it was no different when The Sims 4 launched. There are cheat codes for just about anything in The Sims 4 but gamers will have to enable cheats if they want them to work.

Whether gamers don't have an internet connection or want to avoid updating their game, here's how to play The Sims 4 offline.
This guide tells players what they need to know to activate Sims 4 cheats on any platform. It also shows them how to open the basic cheats menu so they can access the most useful gameplay cheats in The Sims 4.
How to Turn on Cheats in The Sims 4
Before anything else, players will have to open the cheat console, and here is how to do it on all platform:
- PC and Mac: Ctrl + Shift + C
- Xbox or PlayStation: hold four shoulder buttons simultaneously
Players can then use this box to enable cheats and to input any cheat code that they might find useful. To enable cheats in The Sims 4, players must type "testingcheats on" or "testingcheats true" into the cheat console.
To close the console, gamers must press the same button combination. Once they're ready to deactivate cheats, they can disable them with the code "testingcheats off" or "testingcheats false".
Pie Menu Cheats in The Sims 4
Even though there are several cheat codes in The Sims 4, the most basic cheats are accessible through an in-game pie menu and don't require players to input any codes into the cheat console. Here is how to access the cheats in the pie menu on any platform:
- PC: Shift + Click on a Sim
- Mac: Shift + Click on a Sim
- Playstation: Hover over a Sim and press and hold Circle + X
- Xbox: Hover over a Sim and press and hold B + A
Here are the cheats available in the Sims 4 pie menu:
- Give Bucks - if players have Eco Lifestyle, they can increase the number of Bits and Pieces in their Sim's inventory
- Cheat Need - the Cheat Need option allows players to "Make Happy", which automatically fills up their Sim's needs, and to enable to disable Need decay
- Modify in CAS - this allows players to automatically enter Create-a-Sim without having to interact with a mirror
- Kill - this option causes their Sim to "be slain by a vicious killer rabbit"
- Reset Object (debug) - reset object is a way to debug broken Sims or objects that are preventing actions
- Cheat Sim Info - here gamers can deactivate Needs or add Sim preferences
- Pack Cheats - here, players can access expansion pack-exclusive cheats. For example, if the player owns Island Living, they can modify their Sim's tan
- Add/Remove from Family - removes or adds a Sim to a household
- Make Into Plant Sim (debug) - turns a Sim into a Plant Sim,
- Marriage - allows players to clear the Sim's marriages
- Career Gigs Picker (debug) - allows Sims to start a career gig of any kind
