The Sims 4 offers its players the chance to create a unique life for their sims. There are few limitations when it comes to shaping them into distinctive beings, but some fans may prefer a more realistic approach. Sims can develop otherworldly powers and appearances if the player wishes, but sometimes it's just as satisfying to watch as they live a normal life.

Like they would in real life, the sims have bills to pay. Shortly after building a home for them, a notification will pop up advising the player to pay it or otherwise risk losing electricity in their newly purchased home. There are several ways to pay bills in The Sims 4, but some take less effort than others.

Paying Bills

Paying bills isn't exactly required in The Sims 4, but not doing so will make it incredibly difficult for a sim to prosper. Sims will become bored quite quickly and will begin to suffer in various aspects and may even die as a result of not paying, so it's better if the player bites the bullet and pays on time.

The sim will need to find a decent source of income to pay these bills, but once they have, the only thing standing in their way is the means of paying. There are three ways to pay bills in The Sims 4, but one is easier than the rest.

A Letterbox

Upon moving into a new home, a sim will rack up multiple expenses. A quick way to pay them off is to investigate the front of the house for its letterbox as interacting with it will give the player the option to pay. It may not be the most realistic method, but it's very easy to find and will likely be a player's first choice at the start of their playthrough.

A Computer

Purchasing a computer in The Sims 4 will open a door to many opportunities. These devices can be used to play games on, read, write, and most importantly, pay bills. It's an extremely versatile machine that most players should incorporate into their lives. To pay bills on a computer, the player need simply interact with the device and choose to do so.

A Cellphone

Like the computer, the cellphone also has an array of unique features. It can be used to call friends and taxis, take vacation days, take photos, alter aspirations and traits, and of course, pay bills. The playable sim will receive a cellphone upon the world's creation and will thus have access to it immediately, making it the most efficient way to pay bills. Accessing the phone can be easily done by clicking the small phone emblem at the bottom of the screen on the left-hand side.

Paying bills in The Sims 4 can be easily done, but opting to pay via cellphone is by far the quickest method. Computers can be misplaced and letterboxes can be obscured, so using the easily accessible cellphone is undoubtedly the superior option. Not all players will have amassed enough funds to pay these bills, however, but their lack can be quickly remedied upon acquiring employment and obtaining the necessary Simoleons.

The Sims 4 is available now for Mac, PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
