Whether gamers are trying to make Ambrosia, get a Death Flower, or simply have a complete garden in The Sims 4, they will need to add an Orchid Plant to their in-game gardens. While players will be able to get a ton of plants from seed packets in The Sims 4, some can only be obtained through grafting, a more advanced gardening method.
The Sims 4: How To Graft Plants
Growing rare plants in The Sims 4 requires players to unlock the grafting skill, but figuring out how to graft plants can be a little confusing.
Orchid is one of the plants that can be acquired this way, so gamers might find it harder to get their hands on this plant to start farming it. This guide tells players what they need to know about Orchids in The Sims 4, so keep reading to learn more.
How to Get an Orchid in The Sims 4
To get an Orchid in The Sims 4, players must first plant a Snapdragon and a Lily and wait for them to mature. Once both plants have matured, they must select one of them and choose the Take a Cutting option, which becomes available once they get to Gardening Skill Level 5. Then, they will have to interact with the other plant and select the Graft option.
The plant will need time to grow once it's been grafted onto another one. However, if players don't want to wait, they cheat to get to mature faster. To do this, enable cheats in The Sims 4 and open the Pie Cheat Menu to select the plant's growth stage to blooming.
Lilies grow in the summer and Snapdragons grow in the spring and fall. So, gamers might want to get themselves a greenhouse in The Sims 4 to shelter the plants and grow them all year round.
The spliced plant will produce Snapdragons, Lilies, and Orchids. However, it could take some time for it to produce the latter.
How to Get an Orchid Plant in The Sims 4
It may take a few in-game days for the spliced plant to produce Orchids, but once it does, gamers can harvest their first Orchid. From then on, players shouldn't have any more problems getting Orchids in The Sims 4.
To get an Orchid plant in The Sims 4, harvest an Orchid from the spliced plant and then plant it. This will create an Orchid plant that will only grow Orchids each harvest rather than three different plants at random. An Orchid will produce flowers in the Winter and Spring.
Players can follow this method with Apples and Cherries to get themselves a Pomegranate tree in The Sims 4.
