Love language can actually be found under a different name in The Sims 4. This feature was introduced in the Lovestruck Expansion Pack, where players can have more control over their Sims romantic relationships, including Boundaries and Attraction types.

It’s quite easy to set up the love language in The Sims 4, as players can simply choose it from Create a Sim. Additionally, you can also change it later on while playing in the middle of the save by opening the Simology tab and scrolling down to Relationship Preferences.

How To Set Your Sim's Love Language In The Sims 4

While creating a Sims 4 character in CAS, players can choose the love language for this Sim, which will shape the relationship between their Sim and their significant other. Right under the Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs section in the customize options, you can choose the Romance Style, which means their love language. There are many types that Simmers can choose from:

  • Affection: Interactions like Profess Undying Love and Express Fondness.
  • Flirting: Interactions like Whisper Seductively and Blow a Kiss.
  • Gift Giving: Gifting anything like roses or Romantic Gifts.
  • Physical Intimacy: Interactions like Kiss Cheek and Hold Hands.
  • WooHoo: Includes Woohoo everywhere in The Sims 4 and try for baby as well.

When a Sim has one of these love languages turned on, they will gain Romantic Satisfaction Points when another Sim performs the interaction in The Sims 4. However, if it's turned off and someone performs a disliked interaction, then they will lose Romantic Satisfaction Points.

A high level of Romantic Satisfaction will boost a couple's romance in The Sims 4 and increase its longevity, so Simmers who wish to build a strong relationship need to pay attention to the interactions that increase and decrease the Romantic Satisfaction points.

There are other ways to earn more points, including respecting the other Sim Boundaries as well as trying to match their Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs. Most importantly, is the consistency of any romantic interactions between both Sims without engaging in any love language disliked by one of the couple. If it’s becoming too complicated, you can always change your Sim’s Turn-Ons and Offs to match the other Sim. If you don't want to modify your Sims attractions, use cheats in The Sims 4 to change the other characters' Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs.
