Traits play a significant part in how Sims socialize and interact within the world in The Sims 4. By default, they start with three Traits in Create-A-Sim (CAS), and can earn more traits through Skills, Rewards, Jobs, and Aspirations. However, three traits to start with are somewhat limiting.
Legacy Simmers may want to set up families with complex personalities and dynamics without having to do all the major legwork required to earn these Traits. Here's a how to add more than three traits and all the Trait Cheats in The Sims 4.
The Sims 4: All Skill Cheats
Skill cheats allow Sims 4 players to adjust their Skills without spending in-game hours working on them.
How to Enable Cheats in The Sims 4
Players can change the traits of their created Sims in CAS using command cheats, but they can also manually add as many Traits as they want. Players must turn on cheats before they can unlock all the available console commands. Unlike Mods, command cheats are available to all players regardless of their platform, so console players aren't left out. To enable cheats in The Sims 4:
- PC: Ctrl + Shift + C
- Mac: Cmd + Shift + C
- Console: L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 (PlayStation), and LB + LT + RB + RT (XBox).
- Input testingcheats true or testingcheats on
Players will see a confirmation message stating that cheats are enabled, indicating that it has worked.
How to Add More Trait Slots in The Sims 4 Without Mods
Players can input traits.equip_trait [Trait] to add or traits.remove_trait [Trait] to remove Traits outside of CAS. For example, players who want to give a Sim the Childish Trait would use traits.equip_trait Childish.
