A Sims 4 player has recently spent days trying to kill a Sim that they deemed irritating enough to warrant such a time investment, one Alex Moyer. Their efforts resulted in failure, but one that saw them learn something new about the game: some NPCs in The Sims 4 are immortal.
Alex Moyer is a pre-made character from the game's tutorial that was originally introduced as part of Patch 73 in November 2018. Age-wise, she falls into The Sims 4's Young Adult category and is labeled as being 27 days away from adulthood. However, she does not age and is forever stuck on her second day of adulthood. Apart from being blessed with infinite youth, Moyer also happens to be completely unkillable.
The Sims 4: How to Avoid Death by Emotional Overload (Fairy Sims)
Fairy Sims can die of Emotional Overload in The Sims 4, and this guide tells players how they can avoid this fate.
Unaware of this fact, Reddit user jajajajajajaja_5520 recently invested significant time attempting to kill this Sims 4 character. After repeated failures, the player turned to social media to share their frustration. "I’ve been trying to drown her for days," they wrote, adding that they had also attempted to starve her to death. Their venting post made the front page of the r/TheSims subreddit in late July 2025, prompting other fans to inquire about whom exactly they were trying to end. After the player identified Alex Moyer as their target, they were informed that she happens to be unkillable.
It's Possible to Kill Alex Moyer in The Sims 4, But Not Without a Sacrifice
While immortal Sims cannot die via conventional means, there is a way to eliminate them by bringing up the in-game console and enabling cheat codes with the command "testingCheats true." From there, one can click on, e.g., Alex Moyer with the console open and use the "traits.remove_trait SpecialNPC_isFTUERoommate" to make her a mere mortal, susceptible to all in-game forms of death. This, however, requires a sacrifice in the form of achievements, which are automatically disabled once cheats are turned on. On PC, this restriction can be circumvented via mods.
The Sims 4 Has Fates Worse Than Death
Although Alex Moyer cannot be killed without cheating, there are fates worse than death. Over the years, The Sims 4 players reported some rather twisted experiments involving the immortal Sim, like moving her in with the goal of having her act as a servant. In a now-deleted Reddit comment from 2022, one player said they intend to turn her into "a painting slave in the basement." While they never followed up on this, the idea was far from unprecedented, as other fans previously reported leveraging Moyer's immortality as a consistent source of extra income in The Sims 4.
Alex Moyer may be one of the most well-known examples of immortal characters in Maxis's hit game, but she is far from the only one. The Sims 4's Baby Ariel also had the gift of immortal life bestowed upon her, as did all the babysitters. Ditto for NPCs like buskers, butlers, and Jasmine Holiday, a challenge coordinator who was initially added to the game in March 2016 and now appears during select events. The harbinger of death, Mr Reaper, is immortal as well.
