From medieval castles to tiny suburban homes, The Sims 4 has it all. This guide will show players how to rotate items in The Sims 4.
How to Rotate Items in The Sims 4
45-Degree Angle Rotation
The most basic rotation method in The Sims 4 rotates objects at a 45-degree angle so they can be placed in four different positions, facing either left, right, up, or down. Here is how players can rotate items at a 45-degree angle in The Sims 4 on each platform:
-
PC:
- Press Period (.) To rotate left, press Comma (,) to rotate right
- Grab and hold an object, then move the cursor around it
-
Playstation:
- Select an object, press L1 to rotate left, press R1 to rotate right
-
Xbox:
- Select an object, press LB to rotate left, press RB to rotate right
To perform this type of rotation, players must be in Build mode and drag the item they want to move. However, if it is a draggable item, this can be done in Live mode.
How to Rotate Items Freely in The Sims 4
Free Rotation
If players want to rotate an object at a very specific angle, then they must use the free rotation tool. Here is how to rotate objects at any angle in The Sims 4:
-
PC:
- Grab and hold an object, then move the cursor around it while holding down Alt
-
Playstation:
- Select an object, press and hold L1+L2, rotate the object freely using the right analog stick
-
Xbox:
