A new base game update for The Sims 4 is about to drop, and gamers will want to ensure they're ready for it. This guide tells fans what they need to know about the upcoming patch for The Sims 4 base game.

The Sims 4 Base Game Update Time

The Sims 4 upcoming expansion pack, Life and Death, is scheduled to release on October 31, the day of Halloween. However, a free base game update has been announced and will be coming out before then. This way, gamers can rest easy, knowing they'll probably have a smoother experience once the expansion is out.

According to the official The Sims Direct Communications account, the next base game update for The Sims 4 will be out on Tuesday, October 22. Usually, updates come out around 10 AM PT. However, for the past few weeks, Reaper's Rewards Quests have been released at 9 AM PT, and this is the most likely release time for the next Sims 4 patch.

To get access to the patch content, players must make sure that they check their game for updates before launching it.

What to Expect in the Next Sims 4 Update

The Sims Direct Communications team has said that this will be a "big base game" update. However, they've kept things quiet for the most part. However, it has been confirmed that The Sims 4 update coming out on October 21 will finally fix the Reaper's Rewards event errors that have caused some players to be unable to participate in the event.

Modders got access to the update early so they could start working on their mods to ensure they can be updated as soon as the patch is out. It is likely that this will continue to happen with future updates, which is great news for The Sims 4 modding community.

After installing the update, gamers who haven't been able to complete Reaper's Rewards Quests due to them bugging out should be able to see them and complete them at last. Thankfully, the event will be live until November 19 so there will still be plenty of time left to get through all of the quests and unlock the free Reaper's Rewards Goodies.
