Who Should Be Added To The Super Mario Bros Movie 2?

Adding Two Iconic Villains Would Freshen Up The Story

Wario and Waluigi from Mario Tennis

There are a lot of characters from the world of Super Mario who can still be injected into the movie world. While Yoshi is expected to be part of The Super Mario Bros Movie 2 after the teaser at the end of the previous film, people also want to see others. Wario and Waluigi are two others that fans would love to see included due to how popular they are with video game fans and how they would bring something fresh and exciting to the movie to make it feel unique. This dastardly duo are notorious for causing problems to Mario and Luigi, and getting that onto the big screen would be a lot of fun in the world created throughout the original.

The Super Mario Bros Movie 2 will likely bring Jack Black to voice the character of Bowser. He's the most iconic villain in the franchise and someone who is always seen as the biggest threat to Mario throughout the video games. Seeing him return as the main villain wouldn't be a surprise, but having Wario and Waluigi involved would also help the sequel feel fresher. They have vastly different personalities from Bowser, and that's something that would provide unique moments. Wario's mine location would add a new area to explore within the franchise, which would also be beneficial, and the two characters could either work alongside Bowser or provide a different threat in another portion of the film entirely. Having Bowser as the only villain again would risk feeling predictable and repetitive; therefore, throwing two new characters in creates a fresh dynamic.

Luigi Would Have An Increased Presence

It Would Further The Brotherly Bond

Another benefit to having Wario and Waluigi in the sequel is the fact it would give Luigi more to do. He's a brilliant character, and even though he's always felt like a support throughout the franchise, audiences love him and want to see more from him. Having these two villains added to the movie would allow that to happen, as Luigi could have someone to focus on as a legitimate threat. It would let Luigi shine brighter, getting more focus in a serious manner, as he can showcase his own skills in a more confident manner. That would help his character move forward, particularly if they ever want to do a Luigi spinoff movie in the future, as he would be a contender to take on the lead role if it were to happen. Waluigi would be his main villain if they do get added, and that is an exciting prospect to help make The Super Maro Bros Movie 2 stand out.

Having two villains in Wario and Waluigi would also push the brotherly bond between Mario and Luigi even more. While the connection between them was a lot of fun in the first movie, they did spend a lot of time apart, which is something that the sequel shouldn't do. Instead, having them work together against Wario and Waluigi would push their teamwork and potentially make Luigi feel like an even stronger hero. He was shown to be very scared during the first film, but if they can come together during the sequel, it would help Luigi look like a more impressive character while proving that he and Mario can work together perfectly.

Wario And Waluigi Would Add Even More Humor

They Would Also Provide A Different Story From Bowser

Wario in Wario World

The Super Mario Bros Movie featured plenty of humor, which is to be expected from a family-friendly animation. That's something that Wario and Waluigi would help enhance, as they're often seen as funny villains who don't need to be taken overly seriously. Adding them in to provide some comedic relief would work well to improve the movie, while that would open up the possibility of making Bowser a more serious and scary threat as he seeks revenge if they decide to bring him back. However, the duo would also give a totally different story from Bowser, potentially even linking the human world as they could be from there as well, just like Mario and Luigi, which would be an interesting twist. Either way, injecting them into The Super Mario Bros Movie 2 would provide some great fan service, all while improving the quality of the film and making it feel unique.
