The Witcher 2 was a massive success compared to the previous title in the franchise. The sequel to The Witcher had a better story, exceptional combat, and a great replayability factor. While The Witcher 2 is pretty straightforward, players may encounter certain obstacles that prevent them from progressing through the game, like the Letho fight at the end of Chapter One.
The Witcher 3: Should You Simulate A Witcher 2 Save?
Learn how the simulated Witcher 2 save file affects Geralt's journey through The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Letho is a tough opponent, requiring players to memorize his attack patterns to defeat him. Those struggling to defeat Letho can use this guide for step-by-step instructions on how to do so.
How to Beat Letho in The Witcher 2
Let’s take a look at some important tips while going head-to-head against Letho:
- Letho is incredibly difficult to tackle on Dark and Insane difficulties, especially since he will charge at Geralt with deadly strikes and uses various ranged attacks.
- Since Letho was a Witcher before, he can also use signs like Igni and Aard.
- When Letho uses the Quen sign, Geralt cannot inflict any damage to him.
Players will encounter Letho twice during The Witcher 2, and the first boss fight will go in his favor no matter what.
To defeat Letho, players should follow these steps:
- Use the Aard sign against Letho to stun him for a few seconds.
- Strike Letho with a heavy attack and then a light attack.
- Retreat immediately and dodge Letho’s attacks by rolling left or right.
- Rinse and repeat.
Whenever Letho uses Quen, Geralt should use the Yrden sign to eliminate the effects of his sign. Additionally, players could parry his attacks, but it would be wiser to attack and retreat by rolling back since Letho can land a lethal blow quickly.
After Letho’s health drops below fifty percent during the first boss fight, a cutscene will play, and he will show mercy to Geralt and leave. This will not be the case during the second fight, but players can follow the same strategy from before to take this challenging enemy down.
After defeating Letho, players can choose between killing or sparing him. By choosing to spare him, Letho will return during the events of The Witcher 3. Since killing Letho does not earn the player anything, letting him live is a better option.
