This goal is not actually too hard to complete, and it should be a top priority when you start the Los Angeles level because it unlocks a secret area above the plaza. Grind All Four Red Rails To Start The Earthquake

To Start The Earthquake in the Los Angeles level, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 players must grind four different red rails around the first building just ahead of the spawn point. When you successfully grind a rail and complete the related gap, you will see a "(direction) QUAKE RAIL" popup. When you successfully skate all four red rails around the central building, you will see a cutscene that changes the level layout.

Follow these steps to find all four Quake Rail locations in the Los Angeles level to complete the Start The Earthquake goal:

  1. To start, skate down the stairs and into the corridor straight ahead. Grind the red rail on the left side of the corridor to complete the first Quake Rail.
  2. Exit the building, then skate down to the road and turn sharply right. Grind the red rail on the right side of the sidewalk to complete the second Quake Rail.
  3. Follow the road as it turns right, then right again to the back of the starting building. Grind the red rail on the right side of the road to complete the third Quake Rail – you will need a bit of speed to make it up this gap without slowing down.
  4. Jump off the third red rail, then skate up the hill to the left and turn right. Follow the path above the starting area until you see a red rail leading down a ramp walkway. Grind this rail to complete all four red rail locations!

THPS 3+4 Start the Earthquake Los Angeles Goal Highway Accident

If you successfully grind all four red rails within the time limit, you will complete the goal and see a cutscene of an earthquake striking the level, shattering the highway above the plaza area. Jump onto the building on the back right side of the level (from the spawn point) to get onto the collapsed highway, which leads to the Iron Galaxy logo for the level.
