A default layout may not be to everyone’s taste. Throne and Liberty allows players to completely remap their controls so that they can have the best experience possible. These can be paired alongside changing other settings to help improve the game’s performance.

This can also be used by players to assign lesser-used features to more complex bindings. This in turn will free up quick and easy bindings to their most frequently used features.

How to Change Key Bindings for PC in Throne and Liberty

As one would expect, players will be able to rebind their keys by opening up the menu and navigating over to Settings. Once in settings, players will then click on the Shortcuts tab. Players will see a list of the various kinds of operations and what shortcuts are currently assigned to them. Players will also see little trashcan icons they can use to unbind any current shortcuts. To change an existing shortcut, players just need to click on the currently assigned shortcut. This will allow them to input a new key binding to replace it.

Another feature to look into is changing between Classic and Action mode. This can help players find the exact experience they are looking for.

How to Change Key Bindings for Console in Throne and Liberty

Despite the fact that the game is crossplay and has all the same components for both PC and consoles, the controller bindings are not in the same location as those for the mouse and keyboard setup. So console players are going to need to follow a different route. Players will open up their menu, select Settings, and then move over to the Controller tab. Here, they will see 2 options under their controller’s preset buttons; Default and Custom. Players will want to select Custom to bring up a list of all the game’s key bindings. Move over to the building you wish to change and press either X for PlayStation or A for Xbox.

Players will now be able to assign either a single button prompt, or have it that the operation is bound to pressing a button while holding down another button. If you assign a button or button pairing that is already in use, then the game will bring up a window specifying which bindings will be removed. Players can choose to accept these changes or cancel them.

A mouse cursor is still available for console players who wish to activate it should they feel a need for one.

Why Change Key Bindings In Throne and Liberty

Throne and Liberty Sword and Shield Combat

Some default bindings can actually be pretty infuriating to some players, and they may find themselves groaning over something they didn’t mean to do. By rebinding the most intuitive buttons and/or controller settings to how a player interacts with the game, they can significantly reduce the probability of doing the wrong thing.

Another reason is that players might be able to play the game better with their personal choice of bindings rather than how most people would prefer the game’s default button layout. Many players wouldn't dream of changing how they activate their currently assigned Dash Morph, while others may feel this button may serve them better as something else.
