Throne And Liberty has a lot of different menus for players to navigate as there is so much to upgrade or change about even a single character. Console players are well accustomed to using the directional controls on their controller to navigate menus in a game, though they don't always work properly in Throne And Liberty like when navigating the Battle Pass.
Various menus will make you jump from the d-pad to the directional controls, without any mention of which is used for that menu. Should you be in a menu you can't seem to control, there is the ability to activate the emergency cursor mode to make navigation much easier; here's how to do it.
Throne And Liberty: How To Change Servers
Throne And Liberty has many servers to choose from; here's how to switch between them.
How To Activate Emergency Cursor Mode On Console
To activate Emergency Cursor Mode on PlayStation or Xbox, simply press and hold down the left joystick for about three seconds. A menu will then pop up asking if you want to activate Emergency Cursor Mode, which really just adds a cursor to that menu to make navigation easier. That same joystick can then be used to navigate the menu, pressing either X on PlayStation or A on Xbox to select whatever you are hovering over.
While in this mode, there is a bit of assistance that is turned on and can't be changed which will slow down the cursor when hovering over anything that can be interacted with. While this does make Emergency Cursor Mode a bit slower to use than the directional controls, it's overall a lot more efficient and reliable which players will need if they want to reach max level.
Throne And Liberty: How Skill Upgrades Work
Upgrading skills is a very important element in Throne and Liberty, so be sure you know what you’re doing.
Can You Permanently Turn On Emergency Cursor Mode
Unfortunately, there is no way for this setting to be turned on permanently, and instead, it will only be activated while in the current menu you were in when it was turned on. Going to another menu of any kind will return you to the usual directional controls. If you wish to use it consistently, it will need to be activated any time you open up any menu or go into a deeper menu from the main menu.
Emergency Cursor Mode, as its name implies, is only meant for emergencies, which can often happen on console. Should you ever open a menu and the directional buttons don't work at all, Emergency Cursor Mode is always available and can be activated to get you to a menu that does work. Some menus such as the Mirror Boutique seem to have more issues than others, making Emergency Cursor Mode a necessity to change your character's appearance.
