The MMO Thone and Liberty has a lot of mechanics players will need to be on top of in order to dominate the game’s many activities. One such mechanic will be upgrading their gear in the Equipment Enchanting section. Equipment Enchantment can be found in the Item category of the main menu.

Longtime MMO players may know that these games often have a range element where upgrading gear can fail, costing players valuable resources. Luckily, no such range is present in Throne and Liberty. Players will be able to progressively increase their gear as they gain the materials they need. Here's how to do it.

How To Level Up Gear In Throne And Liberty

In order to make gear stronger in Throne And Liberty, players will need to get their hands on Growthstones. Growthstones come in varying rarities, such as Quality and Rare, and will need to match both the rarity and type of the gear being upgraded. For example, in order for players to upgrade quality weapons, they will need some Quality Weapon Growthstone.

To start, open up Equipment Enchanting and select the Level Up tab. To the right, you will be able to see all the weapons, armors, and accessories you have. In this menu, click on the piece of gear you wish to level up. You will see a menu showing the gear’s current level and stats beneath it, as well as what its stats will be once it is leveled up. Players will see the Growthstone requirements to the right of this, and the Sollant cost at the bottom of the page. The Sollant cost will be a part of the level up button.

Equipment Upgrade Rate

Each time a player uses Growthstones, they will progress the item to its next level. However, each attempt has a chance for a different rate of growth. This is where the Common, Intermediate, Greater, and Special percentages come into play. Sometimes gear will level up more slowly than other times, but it will always creep closer to leveling up. Upgrading equipment will never result in a failed attempt.

How To Transfer In Throne And Liberty

Next to the Level Up tab, you will find the Transfer tab, which will not look that different at first. This tab is used to transfer experience you have put into one piece of gear, into a different piece of gear. This feature can be very useful once you find something that is significantly superior to the piece you currently have equipped. You will no longer need the inferior piece of gear, but the experience you gained on it will not be wasted.

This is a great way to make use of all the Growthstones you find, and not only focus on the best gear that requires their own rarity of Growthstone. Transferring can be done with gear of different rarities as well as gear of the same rarity.

What Are Traits In Throne And Liberty?

Sometimes you will find a piece of gear that might not be as good as another one, but has a different Trait that makes it far more worthwhile than what you already have. Optimizing a build means having all the right Traits on the right pieces of gear, and this can mean grinding through many Dungeons for pieces of gear that share the same name.

In order to unlock Traits on a piece of gear, you will need either another piece of gear with the same name, or a Trait Unlockstone. Select the gear you wish to keep, and then on the right you will see all the gear with the same name as it — as well as Trait Unlockstones. You can then consume one of these to apply its trait to your chosen piece of gear.

Finding the same piece of gear with the same Trait lets you increase the Tiers of those traits. It can be a time-consuming activity to find gear of the same name that have the exact Traits you are looking for. Luckily, players will be able to find extracted Traits at the Auction House. The Auction House is also a great place to sell sought-after items to fund your character’s growth in becoming stronger.

Do Weapon Traits Stack In Throne And Liberty?

Players will be able to swap between two weapons while in the thick of combat, and they might be wondering if having the same traits on these weapons will allow the Traits to stack. The answer is yes. Traits are a passive feature that will apply to not just the weapon you have equipped, so make sure both your weapons have the optimal setup.
