Tiny Bookshop is a cozy game by Neoludic Games where you get to run your very own bookshop. It’s been getting a lot of love lately, and for good reason. You will be exploring the charming town of Bookstonbury, setting up your bookshop, and selling as many books as you can.
At first, Tiny Bookshop might look like just another shop management game, but once you start playing, you will see there’s a lot more to it. If you’re just starting out, it can feel a bit overwhelming. That’s why we’ve put together some easy beginner tips to help you get on the right track in Tiny Bookshop.
How to Feed the Dog in Tiny Bookshop
Players will encounter a hungry stray dog in the Waterfront Square area of Tiny Bookshop, here's how players can feed the dog and adopt it.
Don’t Skip the Bookstonbury Review
You will see a newspaper icon at the bottom left of the screen. Click it to open the Bookstonbury Review. Be sure to check it every day, because it’s one of the most helpful tools in the game. It tells you today’s weather, tomorrow’s forecast, and any big events coming up.
Your Location Matters
At the beginning, you will be selling books in Waterfront Square, but later on, you’ll unlock new locations like Cafe Liberte and Far Beach. Each place has its own setup fee and its own taste in books. That means that, before you open your shop each day, you should restock your shelves according to your location. For example, crime novels sell really well at Far Beach.
Buy Cheap Book Deals
The Bookstonbury Review has a section called Classifieds where you can find book deals. You will see four different selections every day, and they can include all sorts of genres. Sometimes they are even discounted, so you can buy a bunch of books cheaply and sell them later for a nice profit.
Use Decorations
It’s not just the books you sell that affect your profits. How you decorate your little shop makes a big difference too. Decorations can attract more people and even improve sales for certain genres. For example, a cactus will increase the sales of your Drama books by 2%!
Pay Attention to Requests
Sometimes, customers will ask for something very specific, like a detective story by a female author. When you select a book, you can read its description to see if it matches what they want. If you give them the right recommendation, they will feel inspired, and that means better sales for you.
Visit the Flea Market
The Flea Market is one of the best places if you want to make some extra profit. There are always people around, and you will often find sellers offering books or decorations that you can use for your shop. It’s worth taking a look whenever you can. I even got a free typewriter from a shopkeeper there.
