The Stabbomancer is a specialist in dealing critical damage and making excellent use of melee weapons in combat, cutting down their foes at any range with the aid of high critical chance. They gain skills that improve their ability to score critical hits, inflict and spread status effects, and greatly improve their mobility. Depending on the build, Stabbomancers can deal deadly melee damage, strike down foes from any distance with critical shots, or criple enemy defenses and drain their health with elemental status effects.

Action Skills

The Stabbomancer has two excellent action skills to choose between in combat. The first of these is "Ghost Blade", allowing the Stabbomancer to create a spinning spectral blade that deals their melee weapon damage to nearby foes with each spin. The blade can be moved to a new location at the cost of some of its remaining duration by using the action skill again. This skill is very useful for builds focusing on melee damage, allowing them to achieve the kind of range that melee attacks normally lack.

The second action skill available to the Stabbomancer is called "From the Shadow", which allows the Stabbomancer to fade into invisibility for 8 seconds. While active, the player inflicts critical hits with all of their attacks, but their critical hits do 25% less damage than normal. This is still a substantial amount of damage, making the skill useful for damage dealing as well as a panic button for emergencies.

  • Arsenal (Tier 1): This skill increases melee, gun, and spell damage by equal amounts and is an excellent addition to any build with the points to spare.
  • Haste (Tier 1): This skill improves melee attack and movement speed, with the bonus doubling whenever the Stabbomancer casts a spell. This skill is essential for high-speed melee builds and also plays well with ranged builds that want extra maneuverability during a fight.
  • Potent Poisons (Tier 1): This skill improves the damage and duration of status effects, making it a very potent addition to any build that makes use of elemental weaponry or magic. This also pairs well with multiclass abilities or feats that allow the player to do elemental damage, like the Brr-Zerker's rage feat or the Clawbringer's action skills.
  • Follow Up (Tier 2): This skill grants a buff that increases melee damage after dealing gun damage, capping at 10 stacks, and resetting after a melee attack is made. This skill is an excellent addition to melee or mixed weaponry builds, as it provides an excellent damage buff.
  • Swift Death (Tier 2): This skill improves the Stabbomancer's damage dealt based on their current speed, making it possible for nimble players to improve their damage substantially simply by constantly remaining on the move.
  • Exploit Their Weakness (Tier 2): This skill causes enemies to suffer additional damage from attacks for a short time after the Stabbomancer inflicts a status effect on them. This effect can stack once for each different status effect, so running multiple weapons and spells with different elemental damage types will allow the Stabbomancer to greatly weaken foes' defenses. When paired with Potent Poisons, this skill has an even greater effect.
  • Nimble Fingers (Tier 3): This skill grants the Stabbomancer a boost to their gun and spell damage after landing a melee attack. This skill is excellent for mixed weapon builds, as it allows players buff their other methods of attacking after landing a successful melee attack. Naturally, this skill pairs well with Follow Up, allowing the player to chain together both skills to gain boosts to all of their attacks.
  • Shadow Step (Tier 3): This skill makes the Stabbomancer's next melee attack into an automatic critical hit after they kill an enemy. While the buff only lasts a short time, this skill makes for an excellent means of chaining powerful attacks together during combat and striking down groups of foes.

  • Sneak Attack (Tier 4): This skill simply improves the critical hit damage of the Stabbomancer, making it an excellent addition to many builds.
  • Elusive (Tier 4): The king of mobility skills, Elusive allows the player to sprint and shoot simultaneously. This skill works wonders alongside the Swift Death skill, allowing the Stabbomancer to accelerate their speed and damage to incredible levels.
  • Contagion (Tier 4): This skill allows the Stabbomancer to sometimes spread a status effect to additional enemies near the main target, when applying a status effect. If no other enemies are nearby it instead has a chance to inflict a random additional status effect on the original target. This skill is excellent for building up extra damage over time on foes, while also combing well with Exploit Their Weakness to render foes more vulnerable to attack.
  • A Thousand Cuts (Tier 5): This skill increases damage dealt by the Stabbomancer after landing a critical hit and can stack multiple times for greater power. This combo pairs excellently with Shadow Step and the From the Shadows action skill by allowing the Stabbomancer to reliably score critical hits and build up power.
  • Alchemical Agent (Tier 5): This skill causes critical hits to inflict a random status effect, allowing the Stabbomancer to reliably strike enemies with status effects when used in tandem with skills like Shadow Step, Exploit Their Weakness, and Contagion.
  • Executioner's Blade (Tier 6): The Capstone skill for the Stabbomancer grants them a 20% chance of creating an ethereal blade hanging above the head of a target they hit with a gun or spell critical hit. After a delay the blade falls dealing damage equal to the Stabbomancer's melee damage, making this a great skill for setting up additional damage on targets tough enough to survive a critical hit.
