The Attribute System in Titan Quest 2 is slightly different than that of its predecessor, and both veteran and new players will need to learn what all these stats are about before they can try to create the best possible builds for their characters.

All attributes are intrinsically linked, and in order to know what to prioritize, this guide will explain every Main Attribute along with its interaction with Secondary Attributes, and how these affect stats, combat, skills, passives, and survivability.

How Do Attributes Work In Titan Quest 2?

Attributes in Titan Quest 2

There are four Main Attributes in Titan Quest 2: Might (Lion Icon), Knowledge (Owl Icon), Vigor (Bull Icon), and Agility (Dolphin Icon).

Each of these Main Attributes interacts and alters the Secondary Attributes, which are Cunning (Fox), Fitness (Horse), and Resolve (Eagle). The way Attributes interact with each other is detailed in the following list:

  • Might: Each point increases Fitness and Resolve.
  • Knowledge: Each point increases Resolve and Cunning.
  • Agility: Each point increases Cunning and Fitness.
  • Vigor: Each point increases Cunning, Fitness, and Resolve.

Now, each of these Main and Secondary Attributes alter the stats of the character in the following way:

Attribute

Stats

Might

Increases the effectiveness of Heavy Weapons, Heavy Armor, and Ornate Armor (Axes, Maces, Mauls)

Knowledge

Increases the effectiveness of Magos Robes, Plated Robes, and Magical Weapons (Staffs)

Agility

Increases the effectiveness of Light Armor, Medium Armor, and Fast Weapons (Swords, Daggers)

Vigor

Increases max Health.

Cunning

Increases Poison and Lightning damage.

Fitness

Increases Strike and Pierce damage.

Resolve

Increases Cold and Fire damage.

As players might have noticed, the Core Stats are altered by the Main attributes, while the secondary stats are altered by Passives from the Masteries, and their interactions with the Secondary Attributes. These, in turn, increase offensive stats such as Lightning Damage percentage that spells or abilities from the Storm Mastery use to calculate damage. This makes combining classes (Masteries) and creating hybrid builds a lot easier than it was in Titan Quest.

Vigor increases all Secondary Attributes Titan Quest 2

Let's use a more concrete example: Player A wants to build a pure melee class, so he decided to go with Warfare Mastery as its main, and Rogue Mastery as its secondary. This player will need to invest in Vigor to gain more Health and increase all Secondary Attributes, and Might, to increase the effectiveness of Heavy Armor and the damage he causes using Two-Handed Melee weapons.

At some point, Player A will feel like the Rogue Mastery skills are a bit more attractive than the Warfare Mastery, so he will try to invest some points there. Usually, this would leave him at a disadvantage in terms of skill power, but since he invested in Vigor, which increases Cunning and Fitness, he will notice that some of its skills increase in power nonetheless, so he will not feel the need to invest in Agility to compensate for this hybrid build's weak points.

Try various combinations of Attributes and Masteries. Players can only choose 2 masteries, but they can reset their stats at the God's Altar in Cities. Changing stats before challenging powerful enemies like Bosses is a good strategy to progress faster in Titan Quest 2.

The same system makes it possible for various combinations like the Tempest (Warfare + Storm) scale towards creating a good synergy, without the need to switch between Staves and Heavy weapons, or have the typical 'Mage Armor' equipped. So, adding Vigor is like a Joker, it will always work towards building proficiency in all types of damage and also increase the player's defenses.
