Moly Root is a type of flower that players will come across during their first hours of playing Titan Quest 2, and when players examine it, they will notice that it's a type of Currency, which can be quite confusing. The description of Moly Root also states that 'restores what has been transformed,' so players might have figured out that it has some use for a quest.

Players will find several of these flowers throughout their adventure, so the mystery remains: What should they do with Moly Root? Since there's no associated quest to this item, but only hidden objectives, this guide will help players learn what they can do with this flower in Titan Quest 2.

Where to Find Moly Root in Titan Quest 2

Moly Root Glaukos Temple Titan Quest 2

Moly Root can be located in three places in the Flooded Farmlands, which is the first 'open-world' area that players will visit during the Fate (Main) Quest in Titan Quest 2. The first Moly Root can be obtained after getting out of the Crypt in the Temple of Glaukos. Players can access this zone by following the priestess after absorbing the Titan Ichor. The flower is on a cliff with some Icthian enemies lurking around it.

Moly Root Abandoned Garden Titan Quest 2

The second Moly Root is easily accessible, located in an abandoned Garden in the middle of the route between Pyrgos Village and Glaukos Temple. It's lying there in plain sight, and there's also a lore referencing how Circe used it to turn Odysseus crew into pigs, which is an important clue to discover what to use it for in Titan Quest 2.

Molly Root Farmlands Crossroads Titan Quest 2

Lastly, far north in the Flooded Farmlands, there's a place called Farmlands Crossroads, which is north of The Enclave. Players will find the third Moly Root in the northeastern road that leads to this small village, which also holds one of the secrets in the game where players will need to use Moly Root to solve a puzzle. Take note of this location for later.

How to Use Moly Root in Titan Quest 2

Strange Man NPC Titan Quest 2 Pyrgos Village

Moly Root, as its description states, 'turns things back to their true shape.' This can be used to transform either NPCs or the players themselves, who can be cursed and turned into monsters. In Pyrgos Village there's a Strange Man (NPC) doing clucking sounds like a chicken. This guy is actually a transformed Chicken, and players can turn it back ot its true shape by spending one Moly Root.

Titan Quest 2 Strange NPC is a Chicken uses of Moly Root

To solve the 'chicken puzzle' in Pyrgos Village, players need to move around the town, visiting chicken coops with their new friend, until this lovely fellow finds its new home. Upon visiting six locations (all the dead-end roads in Pyrgos' map) that have chicken in them, the Black Chicken will grant them some rewards (Gold, Exp, and Embers of Night).

Farmland Crossroads Titan Quest 2 Trap Door Spider Cellar

Now, going back to the Farmlands Crossroads, players will notice that there's a trapdoor behind the building where the village trader offers her services. Enter the trapdoor and don't panic: A curse will turn the player into a spider. Move around for a bit, and approach the door to receive a prompt that says: Use Moly Root? Interact with the door to turn back into a human and open it. This, of course, can be done only if players have an available Moly Root in their inventory.

Spider Cellar Cauldron hidden objective in Titan Quest 2

Now, look for eight Green Spiders spread across this cellar, and kill them to collect their 'Spider Excretions.' Once players have the eight required quest items, they should delve deeper into the Spider Cellar and find a Cauldron there. Put the eight excretions in the cauldron to receive Experience and a permanent +10 boost to Energy.

There might be another remaining use for Moly Root, and it is probable that this mechanic will be repeated throughout the whole adventure. We will keep this guide updated when more information pops up.
