Some games are so fun that there is an understandable urge to share them with one's friends, and, maybe even enjoy the title together! However, some games aren't meant to be multiplayer or simply have not been given co-op support yet.

In the action-adventure game Titan Souls, created by UK indie developer Acid Nerve, players can take on huge foes armed with only a bow and arrow. This is one of those games intended to be challenging, as some can glean from the premise, though it does all the correct things to generate the genuine difficulty (innovative boss and level design) as opposed to some games that simply throw many overpowered enemies at the player.

With that said, having a friend along for the adventure would be pleasant for both the back-up in battle and for companionship while traveling the desolate yet gorgeous world.

Is The Game Multiplayer?

Sadly, no, Titan Souls is not a multiplayer game as it only currently supports a single player. However, that doesn't mean that this will always be the case.

Why There Would Be No Downsides To Adding Multiplayer

Due to the minimalist nature of the game, there would be plenty of room for another player character on-screen. Furthermore, since the player only possesses a single arrow, so will all additional players, meaning that the chances of the screen getting cluttered and chaotic due to more people playing is very low.

Possible New Additions That Could Be Fun In Multiplayer

  • Character Customization - Currently, the player cannot change the way their character looks. However, if more players were involved, the developers would have to make each character look different so that there would be no confusion. If they implement new design features, they could make such decisions available to the player quite easily via a menu of some sort. Even just the ability to change the color of a character's skin, hair, and clothes would be an awesome touch.
  • More Bows - As there is only a single kind of bow in the game, players are locked into a specific fighting style, however, the addition of new kinds of bows would make things more interesting. Bows that have different firing speeds and reload times would be the obvious initial difference between new bows, but being able to visually customize them would also be a very nice feature.
  • PvP - While pitting players against each other directly would be difficult and awkward to add, the developers could always create some type of time-based challenge for taking down each of the Titans and a leaderboard for it so that everyone can see who can topple Titans the fastest.

Will There Be Multiplayer In The Future?

There does not seem to be any plans to add any multiplayer features to Titan Souls, though, there have been people asking online about the possibility, which could always reach the ears of the developers at Acid Nerve. If the idea becomes popular enough, it could potentially be a notion that is picked up and put into the game.
