The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has no shortage of weapons for Link to use over the course of his journey. With the addition of the new Fuse mechanic, the choices seem almost limitless. With this abundance of choice, the system itself seems designed to discourage any one weapon from standing out as superior to the rest. Despite this, there are a few weapons that rise above the rest, either by virtue of their extreme power, or by their iconic nature in Tears of the Kingdom, or the Zelda franchise as a whole.

"Glory of the Zora" deals with one of these weapons: the Lightscale Trident. The entire quest is centered around Link gathering the materials needed to reforge this legendary Zora weapon. This guide will take the player through every step required to complete this task, helping Link to forge one of TotK's best and most recognizable weapons.

How to Start Glory of the Zora in TotK

TotK-Glory-Zora-Dento-Mission

"Glory of the Zora" is only available to Link once he has completed "Sidon of the Zora." This main quest will free the region from its disgusting sludge problem, opening up several side-quests in the process.

To begin "Glory of the Zora," Link must make his way to the Coral Reef, the main general store for the region. In the workshop that sits in the back area, Link will find Dento. Speaking with him will initiate the quest, as well as letting players know all of the materials that are required to reforge the Lightscale Trident.

To do this job, Dento will need:

  • Diamonds x3
  • Flint x5
  • Zora Spear

Depending on what point Link has reached in Tears of the Kingdom, diamonds might be the hardest of the three items to find. While there are multiple ways that Link can find diamonds in TotK, some are far more practical than others.

Purchase Diamonds

If Link has the money, a lot of time can be saved by simply purchasing the required diamonds. Unfortunately, Link must complete "Yunobo of the Goron City" before this becomes a viable option. Once that mission is complete, Link can purchase diamonds for 1,000 rupees from Gonguron, who is found in the heart of Goron City (1644, 2444, 0381).

Rare Ore Deposits

Rare ore deposits are the special gold variation of the deposits found throughout Hyrule. While they are common in caves and wells, many can be found above ground as well. This is especially true in the ore-rich Eldin region.

Link can use TotK's Sensor Plus upgrade to seek out Rare Ore Deposits specifically, which are far likelier to hold diamonds.

How to Get Flint in TotK

Flint is one of the most common items to come from Ore Deposits. Link can head to any area that has deposits, and there is a high chance that he will find an abundance of flint. Link can also focus on taking out any of the Pebblit enemy varieties, as they will often drop flint. Basic level Stone Talus' also have a high chance of dropping flint. Link can get the exact location of a basic Talus by completing the "WANTED: Stone Talus" mission that's offered by Gralens in the Emergency Shelter at Lookout Landing.

"Mired in Muck" Quest Reward

This is one of few ways Link is guaranteed to get a Zora Spear. Link can find this quest directly outside the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower, which sits just west of Zora's Domain. Here, Link must help a Zora named Bazz escape a large pool of sludge. He will reward Link with a Zora Spear.

Chest Locations

There are two known chests that contain Zora Spears. If Link has already found both of these and completed the "Mired in Muck" side quest, he will likely have to search the area for enemies using one. The chests are located in the following areas:

  • Chest 1: Link will first need to travel to Ralis Pond, which sits directly south of the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower. Just southeast of the pond, Link will find another small pool of water. The chest is sitting on the ground on the western side of the pool. If Link has cleared the sludge, the chest will just be sitting there. If Link has not cleared the sludge, he'll need to use a Splash Fruit or Hydrant to do so. Chest Coordinates: 2840, 0191, 0169
  • Chest 2: On the eastern edge of Hyrule, just east of Ulria Grotto, Link will find a chest stuck in the mud, hidden behind the ruins of a small house. The house is hard to miss, as it is the only building in the area. Chest Coordinates: 4412, 0704, 0274

Once Link has all the required materials, players can return to Dento to craft the Lightscale Trident. The process is relatively straightforward, with Link simply handing over each item. Dento will then hand over the newly forged weapon, along with the reminder Link can return at any time to reforge the weapon if it breaks.

Remember, Link can return to Dento to reforge the Lightscale Trident if it is broken. Each time Link forges this legendary weapon, he'll need 3 diamonds, five pieces of flint, and one Zora Spear.
