Seinen isn’t the most popular manga demographic out there, but it wouldn't be a stretch to say that some of the most incredible series out there are Seinen. Over the years, Seinen has shown just how much potential it has. Today, however, is the end of an era for this demographic as one of the biggest series under this title has just come to a conclusion.

Seinen Manga Are Huge

Some Big Ongoing Series Include Berserk, The Apothecary Diaries, and Vagabond

Shonen is the most popular manga demographic in the world right now, but many seinen manga series have become household names.

Seinen series are typically manga targeted at young men, and feature darker themes than Shonen manga. Although most fans start out as Shonen fans, many tend to deviate more towards Seinen with time, as more mature themes are explored here.

When it comes to the popular Seinen series, fans probably know Berserk very well. The Apothecary Diaries is a huge Seinen anime right now, even though many people might not know it’s classified as Seinen.

Undoubtedly, there are many incredible Seinen series that are still ongoing, but today is an incredibly sad day for all fans of Seinen stories as one of the most legendary manga, Vinland Saga, finally ended.

Vinland Saga, One Of The Biggest Seinen Manga Just Ended

Vinland Saga Ends With Chapter 220

Vinland Saga is one of the most popular Seinen manga series. In fact, it might just be the most popular Seinen series of the last decade or so. The series, written by Makoto Yukimura, has garnered worldwide fame and has amassed a huge fanbase, all thanks to its amazing story and characters.

Sadly for the fans of the Vinland Saga, the story of Thorfinn just reached its end. On July 25, 2025, the final Vinland Saga chapter, Chapter 220, dropped and concluded the story once and for all.

Vinland Saga continued serialization for a whole 20 years after it began all the way back in 2005.

Yukimura’s series will definitely be remembered as not just one of the best Seinen series, but also one of the best manga of all time.

“The final chapter of Vinland Saga, Chapter 220, was released today. Thank you very much for reading it over such a long time.

Thorfinn’s long adventure comes to a close with this. I wanted to depict the process of a child growing into an adult through various experiences. I wonder if I managed to portray it well.” — Makoto Yukimura, creator of Vinland Saga

While the manga of Vinland Saga is over, fans still have the anime to look forward to. With only two anime seasons out at the moment, the series still has a few years to go in that regard.
