In an interview with IGN, Bethesda's Todd Howard claimed, "we're doing a lot of Starfield work as well. So we have some really good updates that are going to get announced soon for that game." Not only will Shattered Space likely add a substantial amount of content to the game, but it also represents a clean slate for Bethesda. If Shattered Space can prove a hit with players, it could be a great chance for the public perception around Starfield to shift, winning back some community goodwill for Bethesda.

With Bethesda reaffirming its commitment to Starfield, it is an extremely busy period for the studio. It was recently confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 is in a playable state, and development on the long-awaited sequel is now in full flow. The ongoing success of the Fallout TV show complicates matters too - it remains to be seen if the studio will find a way to capitalize on this while the hype is still enormous. No matter what happens, one thing is for sure - it's a good time to be a Bethesda fan.
