The recent announcement of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 was received with enthusiasm. The collection is looking to remake the first two Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games with vastly improved visuals and some new gameplay features, but it will otherwise be a faithful recreation for fans of the franchise. This includes an effort by Activision to feature as much of the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater soundtrack as possible. "Headstrong" by Trapt wasn't even released at the time the original two Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games have launched, and hasn't been featured in a Tony Hawk game ever, but that hasn't stopped a petition to keep the song off the soundtrack from blowing up.
John Gonzalez has created a Change.org petition urging Activision to keep "Headstrong" by Trapt off of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 soundtrack. Activision has given no indication that it plans on adding the song to the soundtrack, and so this petition seems to be pretty random. The reason given by Gonzalez as to why Activision shouldn't add "Headstrong" by Trapt to the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 soundtrack is "Trapt is wack and we aint letting an amazing game be ruined by its trapts weak ass songs."
The petition was made four days ago, not long after the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 reveal trailer, but is just now getting attention. It has over 12,000 signatures at the time of this writing, with more people adding their name to the petition every few minutes.
It seems likely that the reason this petition was created was due to Trapt's behavior on social media. For the uninitiated, Trapt lead vocalist Chris Taylor Brown has used the band's social media to declare his controversial political beliefs, as well as berate and insult others. While Gonzalez didn't specifically say that's why he wants Trapt's "Headstrong" to be kept off the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 soundtrack, it's assumed that it is playing a role.
Since Activision has already announced the full Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 soundtrack, those signing the petition don't have to worry about "Headstrong" by Trapt being in the game.
Those looking forward to the game should keep an eye out for when the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 Warehouse level demo will be made available. Anyone that wants access will need to digitally pre-order the game, but it may be worth it for those who just can't wait for the full game's release in September.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 launches on September 4 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
