Summary
- Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 won't include Bam Margera.
- Controversial changes also include scrapping Career mode from Pro Skater 4.
It appears as though the upcoming Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 will not feature Bam Margera, despite the fact that he was in the original versions of the games. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is an upcoming collection of content from the third and fourth Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games, but with some major changes.
Like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 before it, Pro Skater 3 + 4 features vastly improved graphics. Pro Skater 3 + 4 will also feature new skaters, parks, controls, music, online multiplayer modes, and more. While Tony Hawk's Pro Skater fans may appreciate the new content coming in 3 + 4, some of the changes are proving to be rather unpopular.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 Will Include Memorable Doom Meme
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 Digital Deluxe pre-order bonuses from Doom include a reference to a popular meme from 14 years ago.
One highly controversial change in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is the omission of Bam Margera. The legendary skateboarder has found himself at the center of various legal controversies in recent years and has publicly struggled with drug and alcohol abuse, which is likely why he was left out of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, though an official statement on the matter has yet to be released. Margera was featured in both the original Pro Skater 3 and Pro Skater 4, and in fact was one of the mission givers in the latter.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Won't Have Bam Margera
The lack of Bam Margera is far from the only controversial change coming to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4. It's also been revealed that Pro Skater 4's Career mode is being scrapped in favor of a 2-minute challenge system used by the older Pro Skater games. This change has not gone over well with the community, and many have expressed disappointment that they aren't getting a proper remake of Pro Skater 4 in the collection. This change in direction will allow more cohesiveness between 3 and 4, but it has understandably left some fans upset.
The lack of Bam Margera in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 has fans worried that future Tony Hawk remakes will be non-starters. Bam Margera was a major part of Tony Hawk's Underground 2, heavily featured in the game's storyline and gameplay. It doesn't seem possible to redo Tony Hawk's Underground 2 without Bam Margera, so it seems that classic game will remain forever trapped on older consoles - unless things change with Margera, of course.
While some fans may be disappointed about the changes coming in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, the good news is the game will be playable without the need to pay full price. Like all Xbox-owned games, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be a day one Xbox Game Pass game when it releases in July.
