Developed by Iron Galaxy, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 reimagines the third and fourth games in the series for modern hardware. In this second remake, players can team up with up to eight skaters to revisit iconic locations, perform impressive combos, and explore the expanded Create-A-Skater and Create-A-Park modes. They can also find Easter eggs in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, such as Michelangelo with the design from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem movie, as one of the unlockable skaters. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 has revealed that it will remove an Easter egg showing a Guitar Hero copy inside a trash can in its next update. The announcement was made by Iron Galaxy's official Reddit account with a comment on the post showing the controversial find. The image was shared on the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 subreddit by user will-powers and quickly caught the community's attention for the way it mentioned another game that defined the 2000s.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Players Discover Controversial Guitar Hero Reference
The Guitar Hero copy was found in the trash can at Waterpark, the fifth Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 level that players unlock by completing all objectives in the previous THPS 4 Skate Tour levels. Interestingly, although the game is a remake, Waterpark is one of three completely new levels, along with Movie Studio and Pinball. This level has a mix of ramps that are good for combos, and six rides scattered around the perimeter of the park that are a good choice for players aiming to land incredible tricks.
In addition to confirming the removal of the Guitar Hero Easter egg, the development team said it “has the utmost respect for everyone who makes games” and that it will investigate how it “got there in the first place.” That is not the first time one of the references available in the game has made headlines: previously, the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Bikini Bottom Easter egg drew attention for being locked behind the Deluxe Edition.
