Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4's launch day has nearly arrived, and fans are still being given updates on what they can expect from the remake of the fan-favorite skating games. While it was initially circulating that certain pieces of content would be missing from the new versions of the games, particularly from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 developer Iron Galaxy reveals much of that content will indeed be included, albeit in a bit of a new form.

The revival of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise began with the release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 in 2020, which was massively successful and met with near-universal acclaim. The remake kept the core content fans love intact, while adding plenty of new content and feature improvements. Announced just a few months ago, the next pair of remade titles appear to be taking the same approach, with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 including Bam Margera in its roster after all.

Tony Hawk Comments on Changes to Pro Skater 3 + 4 Soundtrack

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4's soundtrack has some notable changes from the original games, and the reason has been revealed.

As revealed during a recent hands-on session from Video Games Chronicle with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, many of the goals from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 that were thought to be cut from the remake will actually be part of the game's Pro Goals system. These are additional objectives unlocked after a player completes the initial 10 goals of a level. While THPS 4's minigames won't be returning - such as tennis - more of the original game content than what was initially thought will be making a comeback.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Series Dropping into a New Era

Another change is being made to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4's missions, in that there will now be a customizable in-game timer, allowing players to explore the game's various maps at a slower, more exploratory pace. Players can extend the traditional two-minute timer to five minutes, ten minutes, or even an hour.

Although not set to release until July 11, gamers can actually play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 right now, although there's a catch. As revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, those who have pre-ordered the game will gain access to a demo featuring the game's Foundry and College parks, which will also be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. While Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be available on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, the demo is not.

While Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 has yet to be released, Tony Hawk himself is already campaigning for another remaster of a fan-favorite game. The legendary skater confirmed he's jockeying for a remake of Tony Hawk's Underground, though he implied the feasibility of remaking the game somewhat hinges on the financial success of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4. With nostalgia for the THPS series as prominent as ever, a modern-day remake of the classic story-focused game could eventually become a reality.
