There are ten stats in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, each of which affects a skater's abilities in different ways. Every THPS 3+4 stat improves an aspect of your skater's capabilities, and because every skater comes with a different default stat arrangement, they all feel different to play. After finding Stat Point nodes in each THPS 3+4 level, you will be able to increase every skater's stats in each of these ten categories.

All Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 Stats, Explained

Every Stat In THPS 3+4 & What Each Affects

Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 4 Max Stats Screen

Air

Your jump height out of a half pipe

  • In THPS 3+4, the Air stat affects the height that you can achieve when you launch off a 90° ramp or half pipe.
  • The Air stat does not affect the height of normal Ollies.
  • As the Air stat increases, THPS 3+4 players will be able to perform more grab and flip tricks as they spend more time in the air

Hangtime

How long you stay in the air

  • In THPS 3+4, the Hangtime stat affects how long it takes for you to slow your ascent, reach the apex of a jump, then return to the ground.
  • Like the Air stat, the Hangtime stat only affects the time you spend in the air when jumping off of a 90° ramp or a half pipe.
  • As the Hangtime stat increases, THPS 3+4 players will find that their skater appears to linger in the air longer, which gives noticeably more time to perform tricks and extend an aerial combo before landing.

Ollie

How high you jump on flat ground

  • In THPS 3+4, the Ollie stat affects how high your skater can jump with the regular Ollie, performed by holding down and releasing either A (Xbox) or X (PlayStation).
  • The Ollie stat only affects your height when jumping from flat ground, not the height you can reach by jumping off of 90° ramps and half pipes.
  • As the Ollie stat increases, THPS 3+4 players will be able to jump over obstacles and reach higher heights when Ollieing off of normal terrain ramps. For example, in San Francisco, having a high Ollie stat can help you reach several Skill Point nodes.

Speed

Your top speed on the ground

  • In THPS 3+4, the Speed stat affects how fast your skater travels.
  • At max Speed, your skater will shred through each level, to the point of being uncontrollable in tight areas.
  • As the Speed stat increases, THPS 3+4 players will find that their skater can reach objectives faster, approach ramps and half pipes with more speed for more height, and navigate each level much more efficiently.

8 Things That Need To Be In Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4

Excitement builds for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4's remake coming July 11, 2025, but there are a few things that could add immense fun.

Spin

How fast you can spin in the air

  • In THPS 3+4, the Spin stat affects how fast your skater can turn while in mid-air from any jump.
  • The Spin stat is important because each rotation increases the points value of grab and flip tricks performed during the spin.
  • As the Spin stat increases, THPS 3+4 players will be able to turn their character faster and will find it easier to get Perfect Landing bonuses and avoid mid-aligning a landing.

Switch

When maxed out, you skate equally well switch and regular

  • In THPS 3+4, the Switch stat affects how well your skater performs in the stance that they are not normally associated with.
  • Every skater is better at either Regular or Goofy stance, and when you perform Reverts or otherwise swap your stance, your character will lose some stats.
  • As the Switch stat increases, THPS 3+4 players will lose fewer stats when in their secondary stance. With a max Switch stat, you perform equally well with both stances and lose no stats.

Flip Speed

How fast your flip tricks will turn

  • In THPS 3+4, the Flip Speed stat affects how fast your character can complete Flip Tricks.
  • The Flip Speed stat is not very noticeable at first, but at max level, you will be able to slip in an extra flip trick or two after going off a half pipe.
  • As the Flip Speed stat increases, THPS 3+4 skaters spend fewer frames performing every Flip Trick.

Rail Balance

How well you balance on rails

  • In THPS 3+4, the Rail Balance stat affects how fast the balance meter wavers while grinding a rail.
  • As the Rail Balance stat increases, THPS 3+4 players will notice the balance bar becoming more and more stable, making it easier to balance between each side and continue your grind.

Lip Balance

How well you balance during lip trick stalls

  • In THPS 3+4, the Lip Balance stat affects how fast the balance meter wavers while performing a Lip Trick.
  • As the Lip Balance stat increases, THPS 3+4 players will notice the balance bar becoming more and more stable, making it easier to balance between each side and continue the Lip Trick.

Manual Balance

How well you balance during manuals

  • In THPS 3+4, the Manual Balance stat affects how fast the balance meter wavers while performing a Manual Trick.
  • This also affects the Nose Manual and other types of Manual tricks.
  • As the Manual Balance stat increases, THPS 3+4 players will notice the balance bar becoming more and more stable, making it easier to balance each side and continue the Manual.

Best Stats To Level First In THPS 3+4

Which Stats Should You Prioritize & Level First?

Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 4 Edit Stats Screen

Ultimately, every Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 stat is worth investing in for one reason or another, and you will eventually max out all THPS 3+4 stats for each skater. But as you earn Skill Points and level up each skater to max, some THPS 3+4 stats are worth prioritizing over others.

All stat points you find in every level will transfer between characters, you do not need to grind them over and over again on each skater.

The best Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 stats make it easier to complete challenges, chain together combos, and earn lots of points. Generally, the THPS 3+4 stat priority players should follow while leveling up each skater looks something like this:

  • Speed
  • Rail Balance
  • Manual Balance
  • Air
  • Spin
  • Hangtime
  • Flip Speed
  • Ollie
  • Lip Balance
  • Switch

Speed, Rail Balance, Manual Balance, and Air are the most important stats to increase first in THPS 3+4 as they will provide the most noticeable boost. A high Speed stat will let you get around levels to complete collection challenges much faster, lose less speed while chaining combos, and enter half pipes at a high speed for more boost.

Manuals and grinds are the most common way to string together combos, so it's important to level these stats first, too. A high Air stat will give you more time to complete spins and other tricks after launching off of a 90° ramp, which translates to more points and more time to re-adjust your positioning to land correctly.

After this, Spin, Hangtime, and Flip Speed are equally good to level but not quite as important as Speed, Rail Balance, Manual Balance, and Air. Spin lets you spin more in mid-air, which in turn translates into higher-value tricks, while Hangtime works much like Air but works better with a higher Air stat. The Flip Speed stat can be nice, but you have to invest a lot to see a noticeable animation speed increase.

Ollie, Lip Balance, and Switch should be your lowest priority to level, and should be saved for last unless any are particularly low for a skater. Each skater has different default stats, and some have less than three pips in these stats. Raise these THPS 3+4 stats to around five each, then leave them alone until you max out every other THPS 3+4 stat.
