The stables in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom provide various amenities, allowing players to stable and customize their horses, rest in comfortable beds, and interact with fellow travelers and vendors. Each stable also offers side quests, which can be initiated by conversing with specific residents who seek the services provided by the stables.
The stable keepers themselves each offer a quest that involves adding a beautiful painting to the stables' interior. Since the keepers have numerous responsibilities of their own, they enlist the player's help to travel to different locations in Hyrule and capture specific photographs. These photographs are then used by the stable keeper to create a painting that will adorn the stable.
To embark on these quests, players must have completed any one of the game's temples and obtained the Camera. They can begin the quests by interacting with an empty frame situated on the interior wall of the stable. Here’s where players need to do to complete the quest “A Picture for New Serenne Stable” in Tears of the Kingdom.
A Picture for New Serenne Stable Quest Walkthrough
New Serenne Stable is likely one of the first stables Link will discover in his travels throughout Hyrule, however, as mentioned before, he will not be able to take this quest until he has first completed one of the elemental temples associated with the "Regional Phenomena" main story. Once he has done so, he can head to New Serenne Stable located at coordinates (-1351, 0737, 0085) to start the quest “A Picture for New Serenne Stable.”
The closest shrine for fast traveling to reach the stable is Sinakawak Shrine, located just northwest and in clear sight of the New Serenne Stable. Link should head inside the stable and interact with the empty picture frame hanging on its interior wall. This will trigger a conversation with the stable’s keeper, Sprinn, who explains that the Stable Association has provided these frames for each proprietor to share a stunning painting of one of their favorite destinations in Hyrule.
Sprinn mentions being captivated by the Geoglyphs he learned of during a visit from Lady Impa, and would love to create a painting of one found near the New Serenne Stable. The Geoglyphs are objectives of the main story quest Impa and the Geoglyphs. If the player has not yet spoken with Impa, she can be found just northwest of the stable by following the road.
Despite Impa requiring Link to ascend above the Geoglyph in her hot-air
Balloon for her to get a good look at it, this is not at all required for capturing an acceptable photo for “A Picture for New Serenne Stable.” Instead of dealing with balloons or other Zonai Devices, the player can simply head north to a rock hill located at coordinates (-1519, 0864, 0143), overlooking the leftmost southern split in the road.
At this location, the player needs to just head up to the peak of the hill and pull out their Camera. Aim the viewfinder at the Geoglyph on the ground ahead and when the text bubble displaying “Geoglyph” with the red quest mark appears, the player can capture a shot that will appease the stable keeper.
The player can then jump off the short hill and glide back to the New Serenne Stable. Once there, simply interact with the picture frame again and show Sprinn the photo of the Geoglyph. He is thrilled that the player has captured so much of this mysterious marking in one shot and paints his reproduction to hang in the stable. He will reward Link with 1 Pony Point and a Bright
Tomato Mushroom Stew, completing the quest “A Picture for New Serenne Stable.”
