In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Link has the opportunity to improve the decor and the atmosphere of Hyrule’s stables by undertaking a series of photography quests. These quests become available once Link has cleared any one temple for the game's "Regional Phenomena" main story quest. He must also have unlocked the Camera.
Once these criteria are met, Link can visit a stable and interact with the large, empty frame located on its interior walls to begin one of these quests. If no temple has been cleared, he will instead only see a message left by the proprietor, and it will not trigger the stable's photography quest.
A Picture for Outskirt Stable Quest Walkthrough
“A Picture for Outskirt Stable” begins inside Outskirt Stable, located at coordinates (-1436, -1264, 0032) southwest of Hyrule Field. To start the quest, the player needs to interact with the empty picture frame on the right wall of the stable. This will catch the attention of Embry, the stable's keeper, who informs the player that the Stable Association has decided that the stable owners should display photos on the wall.
Embry expresses his desire to put up a beautiful scene that will make his guests feel at ease. He suggests a painting of a cherry blossom tree but begrudges the fact that he simply doesn’t have the time to head out to one. He asks the player to go to Satori Mountain, directly northwest of the Outskirt Stable, to capture a photo of its cherry blossom tree for the stable.
To reach Satori Mountain, the player can fast-travel to Sonapan Shrine or Usazum Shrine, both located at the foot of the mountain. However, they will still need to climb to the top of the mountain to reach the cherry blossom tree.
Thankfully, the hills leading up to the top are not steep or difficult to traverse. The player can take the road northwest and cross the Nima Plain grassland to begin their ascent. A convenient path up the mountain starts near coordinates (-1947, -0464, 0124). This path is not marked on the map, but it allows the player to easily reach the Cherry Blossom tree by horse or vehicle, making for a quick and straightforward journey.
Upon reaching the top of Satori Mountain, Link will come across a small pool where a handful of Silent Princess flowers can be collected. The large and magnificent cherry blossom tree stands prominently at coordinates (-2299, -0341, 0336). This is the tree that Link needs to photograph for the quest.
To capture the photo, the player simply needs to take out Link's Camera and aim to include the cherry blossom tree in the viewfinder. A qualifying photo will be indicated by the tree being labeled and featuring a red exclamation point icon next to its name. It is not necessary to capture the entire tree in the photo.
Before leaving the area, it is recommended that the player head up to the base of the cherry blossom tree to collect valuable Endura Carrots. They can also make an offering to Satori if desired, as this will reveal the locations of nearby caves.
Once done, the player should return to the Outskirt Stable and interact with the frame, which will trigger a conversation with Embry. Link can then show Embry the photo of the cherry blossom tree, and he will use it as a reference to paint a reproduction of the photo and hang it in the frame.
As a reward for completing the quest “A Picture for Outskirt Stable,” Embry will give Link 1 Pony Point and an
Egg Tart. Additionally, Embry informs Link that they can replace the photo in the frame with another one at any time. They just need to show Embry a new shot, and he will paint a replica in its likeness.
