The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom offers players an extensive selection of armor pieces that are essential to Link's success and survival in his adventure throughout Hyrule. Link will regularly face enemies capable of inflicting elemental damage and status threats, which can range from annoying to deadly. Thankfully, players can obtain powerful individual armor pieces that provide necessary resistance or even nullify these effects.

The Rubber Armor set is a valuable armor set in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as it provides essential Shock Resistance and, when all three pieces are equipped, grants Link immunity to the effects of lightning. This can be particularly useful during heavy thunderstorms, as any metallic armor or weapons equipped can cause Link to be zapped.

The Rubber Armor set consists of three separate pieces: the Rubber Armor, Rubber Helm, and the Rubber Tights. This guide goes into detail on how and where to find each of the Rubber Armor set pieces in Tears of the Kingdom.

Where to Find the Rubber Armor in Tears of the Kingdom

In Tears of the Kingdom, the Rubber Armor can be found by heading to the coordinates -0057, -1005, 0019, to a cave located just above Teniten Shrine. The player will come across a cluster of breakable rocks at the base of the cliff. To break these rocks, the player can use a hammer, boulder fused weapon, or a Bomb Flower.

Upon breaking the rocks, the entrance to Whistling Hill Cave will be revealed, which features a mostly straightforward path to explore. Along the way, the player will encounter some Electric Keese, which serve as a reminder of why obtaining the Rubber Armor is so helpful. Continuing forward and slicing through some vines, the player will eventually reach a hole that they should drop into, using the glider if necessary to avoid taking fall damage. Once at the bottom, three Bokoblins will be waiting to be easily defeated.

After dealing with the Bokoblins, the player will notice a raised ledge on their left with a single Brightcap growing on it. They should head under the ledge and use Tears of the Kingdom's Ascend ability to climb up onto this ledge and continue their journey deeper into the cave.

At the top of the ledge, the player will encounter a tunnel leading upward that is guarded by a Rock Like that will repeatedly spit large boulders. The player must avoid the rolling boulders and wait until the Rock Like has shot a set of three boulders before making a run up the ramp and past the monster. Alternatively, the player can choose to engage the Rock Like in combat, but they must wait for it to expose its vulnerable stomach through its mouth before attempting to attack and defeat it.

Beyond the Rock Like and to the left of the player, there is a large cluster of rocks that can be broken easily with the help of a nearby Bomb Flower fused onto an arrow. This will reveal a bigger room where a Shock Like monster needs to be defeated. Once the Shock Like is defeated, the player can break the cluster of rocks behind it with another Bomb Flower. If the player has exhausted their supply of arrows in dealing with the Like Likes, they can throw a Bomb Flower instead but should ensure they keep a safe distance to avoid getting caught in its explosion.

After destroying the final batch of rocks, the player will enter a room where the chest containing the Rubber Armor can be found. Once the player has opened the chest and acquired the Rubber Armor, they can use the Ascend ability from that room to exit the cave with ease.

The Rubber Helm is the next piece of the complete Rubber Armor set. To acquire the Rubber Helm, players should make their way to the coordinates 1203, -3166, 0028, where they will find the entrance to Sarjon Woods Cave. This cave is located northeast of Sarjon Woods, across the river. As players approach the entrance, a large group of Electric Keese will fly out, indicating that they have arrived at the correct location.

Navigating through this extensive cave requires a bit of preparation and equipment to overcome the obstacles along the way. It is advisable for the player to have a sufficient supply of arrows and sharp weapons to deal with the vines they will encounter. Additionally, heading in with at least one long-range weapon will prepare Link to face numerous Horriblins during his journey to reach the treasure at the end of the cave.

Upon entering the cave, the player should swim along the river, occasionally taking breaks on its small rocky shores to recover Stamina if needed. Along the way, they will encounter the first Horriblin, who may throw rocks or attack from a distance if not cautious. Using a long-reaching weapon or a bow and arrow, the player should knock the Horriblin off the wall or ceiling and into the water, causing them to drown. Defeating the Horriblin will yield a long-reaching weapon that can be used to handle subsequent encounters with other Horriblins.

After continuing down the river and handling a few more Horriblins, the player will notice logs scattered along the shores on both sides. The river current will also become stronger. To progress, the player should use the Ultrahand ability to grab one of the logs and fuse it with another to create a makeshift raft. Boarding the raft, they can then gently navigate downstream, breaking through any obstructing vines along the way.

Eventually, the player will enter a room where a Like Like clings to the wall. The player can again utilize long-range weapons to easily defeat this enemy. After defeating the Like Like, proceed a short distance ahead to discover the treasure room, housing the chest containing the Rubber Armor. Open the chest and claim your well-deserved prize. Before leaving, be sure to eliminate the Bubbulfrog to acquire its valuable Bubbul Gem. To return to the surface, players can conveniently use the Ascend ability from within the treasure room.

Where to Find the Rubber Tights in Tears of the Kingdom

The third and final piece of the Rubber Set is the Rubber Tights. To find the Rubber Tights in Tears of the Kingdom, head to coordinates 4245, -0265, 0004, on the northern part of the island at the center of Horon Lagoon. Here players will come across a sizable hole in the ground, beckoning them to take a leap into its depths and lead them into the submerged cave that lies below.

Before descending, it’s important to note that the cave below requires a good amount of swimming to reach the end. If Link's Stamina wheel is still low, swimming the entire distance may be challenging without an additional buff, such as the Swim Speed increase granted by Rapid Simmered Food. If the food is unavailable, the player should consider ensuring they have at least one Zonai Fan as it may come in handy.

After descending into the Horon Lagoon Cave, a Horriblin perched above will start hurling rocks at Link; players should take care of it before proceeding. Once it's dealt with, players should make their way toward the water. It’s a bit of a swim to the next patch of land, so if Link's Stamina wheel is low, players can use the Ultrahand ability to fuse a Zonai Fan to the nearby flat piece of wood. This should be enough to get Link far enough into the river to swim the rest of the way.

totk-pokey-rock-horon

As Link ventures through the area, the water level around him will fluctuate, rising and falling periodically. When the water level is low, a wall of spikes will emerge, so the player should wait for the water level to rise again, so they can safely swim or use the raft to cross this barrier. The large rock the player needs to reach also has spikes, so it's best to swim toward the right side of the rock in order to climb up without getting injured.

Once the player is atop the large rock, they will notice a cluster of breakable rocks directly ahead and flanked by spears on each side. To break the rocks, the player can use a Bomb Arrow or pick up a Bomb Flower and throw it at the wall, causing the rocks to shatter. Doing so will reveal a hidden cave that the player can climb into and claim the treasure just ahead. The chest will yield the Rubber Tights, and the player can use the Ascend ability to exit the cave.
