Out of all the new mechanics in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the Fuse ability is the only one with a major drawback: once something has been Fused to a weapon, the only way to restore it to its original state is to destroy the attached item.
This is a big problem for players who have combined some of the most powerful items in Tears of the Kingdom with their base weapons – it's hard to let go of a
Black Horriblin Horn that was Fused, which gives more than 20 extra damage to the base weapon. Thankfully, Tears of the Kingdom has an NPC who can undo Fuse on Link's weapons without destroying either the base or the item attached to it. Though the service is cheap, getting to this NPC early is a bit of a task.
Take The Long Journey To Tarrey Town
Tarrey Town was also a location in Breath of the Wild, though much less developed. In fact, Link had to help finance and populate the town and Hudson's construction company back then. Now, Tarrey Town is a bustling town with a sizable population and even its own railway that connects to a lower area.
Tarrey Town is found deep in Hyrule's northeast Akkala Highlands region, just a stone's throw away from the gigantic spiral on the northwest coast. This is the easiest reference point to find Tarrey Town from – scroll to this spiral on the coast of Akkala, and look to its immediate southwest for a small lake with what appears to be an island in the middle.
The island is actually Tarrey Town, which is found on top of a mesa above the lake below. The fastest way to get to Tarrey Town is to glide down from the East Ukkulu Skyview Tower just to the west. If nothing else, take whichever route that leads Link to the coordinates 4008, 1617, 0127.
Talk To Pelison Near The Entrance And Pay The 20 Rupee Fee
An assortment of characters and things to buy – including a new house for Link – can be found in Tarrey Town. Though they may be of different species, almost all of their last names end with "-son." Hylians, Gerudo, Gorons, Rito, and Zora all live in Tarrey Town in unison, and a Goron found just near the main entrance is the guy we're looking for.
Next to the Rito shopkeeper's stall is a small Goron named Pelison. He's an eye-catching fella who's hard to miss, but if he proves elusive, look for his bright yellow construction cap or the open metal floor next to his stall in the main area of Tarrey Town.
Upon talking to Link, Pelison reveals that he can take apart Fused items without destroying either the base weapon or the attached item. This service costs just 20 Rupees, which at later stages in the game barely makes a dent in Link's wallet. After completing the transaction, Pelison gets to work, and Link can find both the base weapon and formerly Fused item on the ground to the stall's left.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
