In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the emergence of the Sky Islands and the exposure of the depths have led to all kinds of new discoveries. Tarrey Town is one area that has experienced a particularly bountiful fall of Zonai structures and devices, and researchers there are looking into the use of a new vehicle prototype.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom offers players a ton of options for constructing their own vehicles and devices, and Tarrey Town's researchers have put together some excellent examples of simple but functional devices. The problem lies in them not having access to the same variety of parts that Link can find in his journey. Luckily, Link can help them out.
Master the Vehicle Prototype
Players looking to help out the Zonai Survey Team will want to head for the area marked on the map above, where a researcher and two Gerudo can be found arguing about a nearby vehicle that is proving impossible to steer. In the vicinity, players can find the vehicle sitting on a raised platform, a fairly simple car assembled from Zonai Wheels, and a flat stone platform. The obvious missing piece here is a
Steering Stick, which can luckily be found at the Zonai Dispenser that fell to the ground on the other side of the excavation site.
Once players acquire a Steering Stick, either from the Dispenser or from any other source, they should attach it to the middle of the vehicle to prompt a response from the researcher. Once players have done this, the Researcher and the two Gerudo will ask Link to test out the vehicle with the new addition. Players should take them up on the offer and use the Steering Stick to maneuver the vehicle to each of the glowing light pillars in turn. This might take a little practice, as the car turns a bit slowly, but players shouldn't have much trouble completing this challenge within the time limit.
Once the car has been driven around the course and the challenge completed, the Researcher will thank Link for his assistance, and the trio will start discussing a possible upcoming race. Players can return to them after spending some time elsewhere to trigger a follow-up quest, but for now, its mission accomplished for the Hero of Hyrule.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for Nintendo Switch.
