Players wishing to upgrade their armor in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will need to seek out the aid of one of Hyrule's Great Fairies. However, the dangers of the world have forced the fairies into hiding, and only the serenade of their favorite instruments will coax them out of their fountains.
Where to Find Great Fairy Mija in TotK
In Tears of the Kingdom, Great Fairy Mija can be found in the Tabantha Tundra at the coordinates -1461, 2995, 0305. Until the players complete the side adventure "Serenade to Mija," she will refuse to open her fountain due to the outside world being dangerous.
If they have completed the previous side adventure, "Serenade to a Great Fairy," players can begin "Serenade to Mija" at the Snowfield Stable located just southwest of the Great Fairy Fountain at -1629, 2587, 0234.
Players can teleport to the Orochium Shrine to quickly reach the Snowfield Stable, where they can find Mastro and the members of the Stable Trotters Link has assembled so far.
Serenade to Mija Walkthrough
Players can speak to Mastro to learn about the Stable Trotters' journey so far. They have most recently come to perform at Snowfield Stable and the nearby Great Fairy Fountain, but it seems that the Great Fairy Mija refuses to come out.
Mastro recalls that Mija used to love the music played by their previous troupe member, Eustus, and believes that the sound of his horn may soothe the Great Fairy's worries about the outside world.
Since they parted, Mastro is unsure of Eustus' whereabouts, but he will really that a recent visitor to the stable had mentioned hearing the sound of a horn near Tabantha Bridge Stable.
Finding Eustus
Players should make their way south to the valley between Nero Hill and Piper Ridge around the coordinates -3654, 0766, 0117. To accelerate their journey, players can teleport to the Makurukis Shrine near the Tabantha Bridge Stable and cross west over the Tabantha Great Bridge to reach their destination.
If players have not yet completed the side adventure "The Hornist's Dramatic Escape," they will notice a pillar of smoke rising out of a small pit with Eustus trapped at the bottom.
In order to convince Eustus to return to the Stable Trotters, players must first help him out of his predicament by building a way for his wagon to escape the hole.
After a successful rescue, Eustus can be found outside the pit with his horn. Speaking with him will have Link explain the situation, and Eustus will agree to reunite with the Stable Trotters at the Snowfield Stable.
Repairing Breezer
With the troupe reunited, there is only one obstacle to waking the Great Fairy: Breezer, the Stable Trotters' wagon, has lost its roof, and the weather conditions are too harsh for the troupe to travel without it.
Players can use the nearby building supplies to create a makeshift roof for the wagon. Afterward, speaking to Mastro will have him evaluate your work and board the wagon with the troupe if he deems it safe.
Players can then attach the wagon to their horse with a Towing Harness and ferry the troupe up the snowy hill to the Great Fairy Fountain. Players also have the option to apply their own Zonai Devices to Breezer and transport the troupe in more creative ways.
Once the Stable Trotters reach Mija's fountain, they will assemble and serenade the Great Fairy with Eustus and all their available members.
Moved by such wonderful music, Mija emerges from the fountain and greets the troupe. From this point on, players are able to visit Mija at her Great Fairy Fountain to upgrade their armor. The level of the upgrade will depend on the total number of Great Fairy Fountains the player has access to, increasing with each Great Fairy's power.
