In Triangle Strategy, players will have around 20 playable characters that they can pick up during a game. Each of these characters will learn new abilities, level up, and can even equip items to make them stronger over the long hours it takes to beat Triangle Strategy.
There is not a massive variety in items that players can pick up around the world and in battle. Mostly, items are healing pellets, pellets to remove status effects, leveling items, or elemental bombs used to throw at enemies. Unlike most RPGs similar to Triangle Strategy, players won't be picking up armor and weapon upgrades. However, there are some rings that players can pick up.
Equipable Items in Triangle Strategy
The rings players can find in Triangle Strategy are:
- HP Ring - Raises a character's max HP by 10
- Strength Ring - Gives the character plus one strength
- Magic Ring - Magic Attack is raised by one
- Defense Ring - Physical Defense plus two
- Magic Defense Ring - Magic Defense is raised by two
- Vitality Ring - Raises a character's max HP by 25
- Mighty Ring - Gives the character plus three strength
- Wisdom Ring - This character's magic attack goes up by three.
- Vanguard Scarf - Guarantees this character gets the first action in combat.
Since these rings are the only items that can be equipped, players might not know or remember how to attach or change out these items for their Triangle Strategy characters.
How to Equip Rings in Triangle Strategy
Since the menu is easily hidden by pressing in the left joystick in this Switch-exclusive JRPG, players might not remember which buttons to hit when going through the menu.
- Press the X button to open up the menu.
- Select Roster, which is the first choice in the menu.
- Use the L and R bumper buttons to select one of Triangle Strategy's characters like Prince Roland Glenbrook.
- Once on the character that players want to equip a ring to, press X.
- This will change the Abilities section to the Items menu.
- All the current rings will appear in this menu, and players can equip the chosen ring on their character by pressing A on the desired slot.
- Each character can equip up to two rings.
- Rings that have already been equipped by another character will have a green checkmark over the ring picture.
- Rings can be removed in this menu as well by heading to the character's screen with L and R, then pressing X. Press X again over the ring that needs to be removed, then press A on the Remove button.
