There are lots of quest items scattered throughout the world of Titan Quest 2, and figuring out what they are used for can finish mini-quests that still reward you like it's a side quest. You're usually given little to no direction on how to use these quest items, but knowing where to go can make these great ways to level up fast and get new gear.

It's also not uncommon to find the use for a quest item before finding the quest item itself, and either can be true in the case of the Caduceus. This large staff is used to begin the Trickster's Shrine quest, which involves a riddle about Hermes and killing a specific monster in a specific way, though this has no connection to the Strange Jar and his problem with Hermes.

Where to Find the Caduceus & How to Use it in Titan Quest 2

The Location of the Caduceus on the Map

The Caduceus is found in a small bandit camp, with only a few enemies within, northeast of Pyrgos in the Southern Flooded Farmland area. You can either choose to go through the marsh to get straight there or loop your way north, following the general direction of "The Search For the Sky God" quest before heading straight east.

The Player Picking up the Caduceus

Once you have the Caduceus, take it to the Shrieking Shrine, also northwest of Pyrgos but more north than the Caduceus was found. Place the staff into the pedestal in the center of the Shrine to start the quest, "The Trickster Shrine."

What Beast Did Hermes Turn into a Lyre in Titan Quest 2

The Location of the Shrieking Shrine on the Map

This quest is fairly short but requires you to know which beast Hermes slayed first. The answer is on a mostly destroyed scroll found near the pots to the right of the pedestal, a turtle. Head out of the Shrieking Shrine to the south to find a turtle out front, but don't kill it.

If you've already killed all the nearby turtle enemies, you can simply reload your game back to the main menu to respawn them.

The Player Luring a Turtle to the Shrine

Once you find a turtle, you'll need to lure it back to the Shrine without killing it before getting there. The turtle won't do much damage, no matter your attributes, and as long as you stay right in front of them and don't run ahead, it will follow you the whole way. Once the turtle gets close enough to the shrine, it will begin to glow, indicating you're safe to kill the turtle. Doing so will finish the quest and give various amounts of gold thrown out of the center altar that can be picked up.
