While players will be in charge of the day-to-day operations of their museums in Two Point Museum, they can't manage every facet of the business by themselves. From ticket sales to maintenance, all the way to the acquisition of new and exciting exhibits, you will need a team of experts, with their own sets of special skills, to successfully run a museum.
In order to run a thriving museum, players will not only need to hire a team of employees to see to the needs of the business and its customers, they'll also need to facilitate their individual growth, which will keep them happy and increase their value to the museum. With this in mind, an understanding of how to train and level up staff in Two Point Museum will greatly benefit you on your quest to become the best museum curator around.
Which Two Point Title Is Your Favorite Concept So Far?
From its announcement, Two Point Hospital struck an immediate chord with me because I've always loved Theme Hospital. However, the upcoming Two Point Museum may become my favorite in the series yet. I'm an enormous fan of real-life museums and can spend hours on end in them, so I'm sure I'll just do the same in the game.
How To Train Staff in Two Point Museum
From the early stages of your first museum curation experience, players will have the opportunity to train their employees to perform specific skills. These vary according to their role within the business, and will provide them with a useful specialization that will enable them to complete additional tasks throughout the museum and beyond. These abilities range from Survival Skills, which enable Experts to go on dangerous expeditions, to Workshop, which enable Janitors to build interactive experiences for younger guests.
Before players can send their staff to learn new skills, they will first need to provide them with a space to learn. To train staff, players will first need to build a Training Room and equip it with a Training Library, Training Desk, and Book Return Box. Once these have been installed, you will have the option to open the training menu and assign new skills to employees in this thrilling sandbox experience.
Employees can only be given training if they have a free training slot available. It is also worth noting that employees will expect a pay raise for having new responsibilities, so make sure you account for that and only train when you feel it is necessary or will help you earn additional income for the business.
How To Level Up Staff in Two Point Museum
Once an employee has filled a training slot with a new skill, they will need to level up five ranks before an additional slot is made available. At its peak, long-standing employees that reach level 20 will be able to learn up to five skills. Of course, this will require leveling up and being a member of the museum team for a significant amount of time.
Employees will passively earn XP when they are performing their day-to-day tasks, but the best way for them to earn XP fast is to be sent on expeditions and perform specialist tasks. For Experts and anyone accompanying them, it is far easier to earn XP in a hurry, as you can send them on expeditions and add the XP-dition Journal Cargo item, which will give participating staff a 15% boost to their XP earnings. Outside of that, having employees utilize their special skills will be great for earning additional XP, such as tasking a Janitor with building a Workshop project.
