Ubisoft  shared some exciting news with fans via Twitter earlier today, as the company will soon be hosting a digital showcase featuring exclusive news about its games. Though the date and time was also given, not much else is known about the nature of this event or what kind of news might be shared.

The event itself, called Ubisoft Forward (#UbiForward), is set to go live on July 12th at 12 PM PDT, and at the time of writing (just one short hour after the post was made), it has already garnered over 60,000 views on Twitter. Understandably, fans are excited, but there is one surprising request popping up more than anything else.

When most think of Ubisoft they think of the incredibly popular and beloved Assassin's Creed  franchise, and with Assassin's Creed Valhalla  taking fans to one of its most demanded settings, the series has been a hot topic of late. That doesn't seem to have stopped fans from flooding this Ubisoft tweet with comments asking for a Rayman sequel, however.

That said, a Rayman  sequel isn't the only thing that fans are excited for, as there are plenty of other Ubisoft games that could get a spotlight at July's Ubisoft Forward. Assassin's Creed Valhalla  is of course a potential candidate, and it may even get a gameplay reveal, something it was lacking at Inside Xbox. Beyond that, there are many callouts for information on Far Cry 6Watch Dogs: Legion, and even Prince of Persia.

The other possibility is that Ubisoft may reveal an entirely new IP. If the Xbox Series X Gameplay Reveal is anything to go off of, it seems that a lot of developers are focusing on creating entirely new game franchises for next generation consoles. That isn't to say that classic game series will disappear, just that there may be an influx of new ideas and games. This should serve as a breath of fresh air for some, as there must be bold new ideas out there which can capture players' attention.

At the moment, all of this is speculation, but Ubisoft did refer to the event as a "digital showcase with exclusive game news, reveals, and more." This means that there will most definitely be some interesting info at the event, and fans should remember to tune in on July 12th.
