Last summer, Ubisoft released Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, a crossover of its own Rabbids franchise with the iconic characters from the Mario game universe. Described by some as a family-friendly XCOM, the Nintendo Switch exclusive received positive reviews and fans and critics seem to like it.

With that in mind, it may not come as a surprise to learn that Ubisoft may be working on yet another Nintendo crossover game. Today, fans revealed screenshots of a survey being sent out by Ubisoft, asking for opinions on different Nintendo characters. Screenshots from the survey confirm that Ubisoft has been polling people on how they feel about Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi, Waluigi, Yoshi, Wario, Daisy, the Koopalings, Bowser Jr. Birdy, Kamek, and Bowser. Responses range from "I do not like at all"  to "I really like."

According to screenshots from the English-language version of the survey, Ubisoft explicitly named Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and asked participants to select two game modes they would have liked to see in the game. Curiously, one mode mentioned is a battle royale game mode in which players would "try and be the last Rabbids standing." Ubisoft recently explained that the reason it hasn't released a battle royale game is that it doesn't want to be a copycat. But, a battle royale mode with hyperactive, anthropomorphic rabbits wouldn't be copying anyone.

Given that the survey also asks "How interested would you be in playing another adventure of Mario + Rabbids in the future" there's very little doubt that Ubisoft is at least considering making Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle 2. Though the survey does highlight some interesting possibilities.

Ubisoft seems interested in including other characters in the Mario universe but wants to know how well-known and well-liked they are first. Fans may complain that Waluigi doesn't get enough love from Nintendo, but perhaps Mario + Rabbids could be his chance to shine.

It's also worth pointing out that the first game received some Donkey Kong themed DLC. This means it's entirely possible that one of the lesser-known Mario characters could receive their own DLC too for the sequel. This is all speculation for now, though, and Ubisoft will need time to put this survey feedback in place. Hopefully, it will make an announcement soon.
