Legend Races are limited-time events in Umamusume: Pretty Derby that pit you against some of the game's fastest racers, and you can earn incredibly rare rewards if you're up for the challenge. They come and go really fast in Umamusume, though, so you have to be ready with trained horses and a good strategy when the time comes.

Legend Races are a great way for free-to-play trainers to get closer to top-tier SSR horses without spending any money on Carats, but they're not a guaranteed way to unlock new Umamusume. How to Win Legend Races in Umamusume

Legend Races are only available at specific moments in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. When a Legend Race is available, you can start it from the Race tab of the main menu. Legend Race Tickets are required to enter Legend Races, and you get three of these daily. Think of them like another version of the Daily Race Tickets that you can use to earn Monies and Support Points.

Simply participating in a Legend Race will net you some bonus materials, but placing first and winning will get you the maximum possible reward: Star Pieces for the featured SSR Umamusume. Your first win against the featured Umamusume will net you 10,000 Monies, 150 Carats, and 10 Star Pieces, and every subsequent win will net you even more Star Pieces on top of that. There are also daily rewards you can claim just for entering Legend Races that give you even more Star Pieces, Monies, and Support Points.

Star Pieces are used to unlock Umamusume or add a star to their rating to increase their base stats and unique skill level. Getting an Umamusume from star rating two to three requires 100 Star Pieces, for example, so every little bit counts. Hitting three stars will unlock an Umamusume's signature racewear as well, so there are multiple reasons to upgrade your favorite racers.

Winning Legend Races can get you those last few Star Pieces you need to upgrade a character, especially if you've already been spending Goddess Statues to get Star Pieces outside of Legend Races. Keep an eye on the Umamusume event schedule to make sure you don't miss any upcoming Legend Races.
