In order to get as many free carats, monies, and other important currencies in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, you will need to complete as many quests as you can. There are a variety of different kinds of quests, most surrounding career mode.

There's a big stack of quests that require you to win a specific race one time in Umamusume. One of the most challenging of these is winning the Teio Sho. It is a race that no horse runs during her career, and none of the currently available horse girls run it well. Still, with a few tricks in mind, it's possible to come out on top.

What is the Teio Sho?

Umamusume Haru Urara Header

The Teio Sho is a Medium Dirt race that is only run in Late June of your Senior year. It is run at the Oi racetrack, which is a right-handed track that is graded a G1. At time of writing, there is only one Uma available on the Global version of the game that specializes in running on dirt, and that is Haru Urara. Unfortunately, she is a sprinter by nature, which means that it can be extremely challenging to get her able to run anything longer than a sprint with any success. This will make running this race and winning fairly challenging.

How to Win the Teio Sho in Umamusume

There are two options for trying to get 1st place in the Teio Sho race: Oguri Cap and Taiki Shuttle. Oguri Cap is the only horse that has a high enough level in running Dirt races that she may be able to win and can run the Teio Sho. Other horses are good with Medium and Dirt, but all have a required race on the same day as the Teio Sho in career mode. If you don't have access to either of these, here is a list of everyone that has no overlapping required races:

  • Oguri Cap
  • Taiki Shuttle
  • Super Creek
  • Special Week
  • Curren Chan
  • Daiwa Scarlet
  • Haru Urara
  • King Halo
  • Maruzensky
  • Mihono Bourbon
  • Symboli Rudolf
  • Tokai Teio
  • Vodka

Unfortunately, if you don't have Oguri Cap or Taiki Shuttle, you are going to have a tough time winning this challenging race. If you don't have her, you can use an Umamusume search tool for user IDs with the red Dirt Spark to help you drag up another runner's Dirt stat to B or higher.

How to Build Oguri Cap to Win Teio Sho

In order to build either Taiki Shuttle or Oguri Cap, you will need to use Legacy Uma to raise your Dirt level to A. If you are building Taiki, you will want to also raise her Medium up to at least a B. Now that your Dirt and Medium levels are high enough, you will need to focus mostly on Stamina and Speed while getting your runner enough Wit to have her skills trigger. It's best to use most stamina and speed Umamusume support cards, like:
