There are nearly too many horse girls to count in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, but Tokai Teio has risen to the top as a fan-favorite. Other SSR Umamusume characters may have stronger stats and aptitudes, but Tokai Teio's skill lineup and growth rate bonuses make her a great choice for any trainer.

Tokai Teio is a Pace Chaser through and through, so much so that her next best racing style (Late) only has a C rating. She prefers Medium/Long distance races on Turf, too, which means she'll run into Stamina problems as a Pace Chaser without proper training. Thankfully, it's pretty easy to maximize Tokai Teio's strengths in Umamusume with the right training regimen and Support Card deck. Best Stats for Tokai Teio

Just like every other Umamusume, Tokai Teio needs Speed to win races, so you should prioritize Speed above all else. Aim for about 800-900 Speed by the end of Tokai Teio's career to have the best shot at success.

Once her Speed is high, Tokai Teio needs a solid mixture of Power and Guts since she's a Pace Chaser. Power will help her break out of the pack and take the lead when the time comes. It will also help her navigate around other runners and take corners more efficiently without wasting too much energy. Guts comes in handy at the end of a race (and Guts training also slightly increases other stats at the same time), so devoting some training time to Guts is a good idea. Power takes priority over Guts, though. Ideally, Tokai Teio should end up with roughly 500 Power and a slightly lower stat in Guts.

Tokai Teio is a distance runner, too, so she needs a lot of Stamina to survive her lengthy races. The longest races Tokai Teio runs towards the end of her career require roughly 500 Stamina as a safe estimate, but you can get around this by using energy restoration skills. If decide to you go that route, you'll have to invest some points into Wit to ensure that Tokai Teio knows when to use these skills during races. Wit is important to Tokai Teio's playstyle regardless, since her Pace Chaser success comes from her great skills. With that in mind, try to aim for 350-400 Wit for your Tokai Teio build.

Best Support Cards for Tokai Teio

The best Support Card deck for Tokai Teio includes t hree Speed cards, two Power cards, and one Stamina card. With this deck, she'll be able to improve her Speed and Power fairly easily while also having some Stamina boosts to fall back on in case you hit a wall later in her career. The other Support Cards listed above focus on maximizing Tokai Teio's abilities as a Pace Chaser while also sprinkling in some energy recovery abilities so she doesn't run out of Stamina too early. You should adjust your Support Cards as needed depending on your inherited skills and starting stats from Legacy Umamusume as well. Tokai Teio can also benefit from friend Support Cards like Tazuna Kayakawa, which let you train more often without losing as much energy.

Tokai Teio's Speed training and other stats will help her stay in the top five throughout most of the race, but you'll need to use these skills to help her blast past everyone in the final stretch. Otherwise, she'll lose to faster horses like Vodka or Mejiro McQueen.
