Unfortunately, Undisputed's career mode may not have the presentation or the cinematic narrative of a game like Fight Night Champion. However, those who enjoy micromanaging their fighter's ascent to champion status will value the detailed attention given to hiring team members.
Good coaches, cutmen, and managers make the difference in how fast your fighter heals after a boxing match, contracts, more fame, and better training in the gym. With enough time you can even unlock famous cutmen like Jacob "Stitch" Duran who's appeared in the corners of some of the most well-known fighters in MMA and boxing.
Undisputed: How To Change Fighting Style In Career Mode
Here's how to switch up your career mode and change your fighting style in Undisputed.
Picking Your Team In Undisputed
When you start your career mode you'll be given a choice of coaches, cutmen, and managers. They aren't the best in the business, but they only take a small percentage of your fighter's earnings and there's no minimum requirement to keep them.
Coaches
Even early on, hiring the right coach is vital for your chosen style. If you want a faster fighter, hire a coach with better rankings in the areas you want. For example, an outside boxer requires speed, stamina, and good defense so pick the coaches with higher rankings in those areas. Sluggers need to be strong and have good vitality, stamina, and heart to survive knockdowns as they are aggressive fighters who can get caught by a good counterfighter.
Select a coach who features the traits you desire for your fighter in Undisputed. Moreover, the better you perform the more traits they unlock for your fighter thanks to an increase in affinity from winning fights under their watch.
You can also upgrade your coaches in Undisputed with earned XP instead of moving on to the next one if you're happy with the traits you get from them. However, it's also good to check what the other coaches offer.
Before hiring a new coach in Undisputed press the More Info button to reveal their traits and stats, certain coaches have traits that will be better suited to your fighting style.
Cutmen
The Cutmen in Undisputed are invaluable during your career mode. They'll help your fighters heal and recover faster between contests and more importantly provide stat boost bonuses like reduced swelling, cut, chin, and body resistances which benefit your fighter during a fight in the ring. So select a cutman with at least a D in one of those stats. Furthermore, a cutman's ranking in Physio will determine if your fighter recovers from minor injuries and their Surgery skill determines if they'll heal from major injuries when attempting to pay for an early recovery.
Managers
Managers help you pick your next fight, negotiate pay, and gain fame and notoriety for your next boxing match. Choosing a manager with at least a 'D' in Negotiation can significantly increase your chances of securing the best contracts, offering a 90 percent statistical boost in this area. Earning more cash is the goal in the early stages of your fighter's career.

How To Change Your Team In Undisputed
You can change your coaches, managers, and cutmen in Undisputed before or after a fight has been scheduled. Once a fight date is set with your current team, you can't change team members or break the contract. While your beginner team will not impose penalties for breaking the contract, subsequent teams you hire with better stats will charge fees ranging from several hundred to tens of thousands of dollars.
Hiring A New Team
To hire a new team in Undisputed, open your Career Hub and navigate to the My Team tab. Open your coach, cutman, or manager's profile, and select View Other Coaches, Cutmen, or Managers. This will give you a list of managers you can hire. However, most have specific requirements you must fulfill before they become a member of your team.
- Signing Fee: How much cash they demand before entering a contract.
- Minimum Fame: Many coaches will only agree to be on your team if you have high numbers in the fame status.
- Cost Per Fight: The percentage they take of your winnings per fight.
- Contract Break Cost: The amount the team member charges if you break the contract before the minimum contracted term.
- Contract: How many fights the team member serves before you need to pay another signing fee or hire someone else without a penalty.
Avoid rushing to alter your team when your fighter has a low ranking. Instead, you can rotate among the beginner three coaches, cutmen, and managers offered as you turn pro without incurring penalties, allowing you to assess their traits before proceeding with expensive new team members.
That's everything you need to consider when moving forward and hiring new team members to increase your chances of becoming the undisputed champion in your weight category.
