Developer Steel City Interactive appears to have teased the return of Ryan Garcia in Undisputed. The controversial boxer was removed from Undisputed before the game's full launch after he was expelled from the World Boxing Council in July 2024 due to racial slurs made on the boxer's social media account. Garcia was also suspended from the sport in April 2024 after testing positive for a banned substance, but will make his in-ring return on May 2.

On October 3, Steel City Interactive announced it would be removing Ryan Garcia from Undisputed. The boxer had been available throughout the game's early access period, but was removed just days before the title's full launch. In a statement regarding his removal, Steel City said it would be "following the lead of the World Boxing Council." While Garcia remains expelled from the WBC, his suspension from the sport as a whole recently came to an end. Although he will remain ineligible to compete for any WBC-sanctioned titles, Garcia will return to the ring on May 2 to face Rolando Romero, who currently holds a record of 16 wins and 2 losses.

Ryan Garcia Could Be Returning to Undisputed

As Garcia has been officially cleared to fight by the New York State Athletic Commission, it looks like the controversial boxer could also be making his return to Undisputed. In a new post on the game's official Twitter account, Steel City teased the boxer's return with a silhouette. While it remains speculation for the time being, many fans believe the silhouette in the video is that of Ryan Garcia, likely teasing his return to the game. For now, it is unclear when the boxer may return to the game. But, given that Garcia is set to fight in just over a week, one would expect his return to the game to be before May 2. That is, of course, if the silhouette is Ryan Garcia.

While Undisputed features some of the best fighters to walk the face of the earth, such as Muhammad Ali, Tyson Fury, Canelo Alvarez, Rocky Marciano, and many more, there are still a large number of boxers yet to be added to the game. Legends such as Mike Tyson and the late George Foreman, as well as current-day icons such as Anthony Joshua and Manny Pacquiao, are still absent from the game.

Although new fighters haven't been added to the game for free, Steel City has released multiple fighter DLCs since the title's launch. One of which even added controversial personality Jake Paul to Undisputed. The most recent DLC, known as Iron and Steel, added the Klitschko brothers, Shannon Briggs, Butterbean, and more. Unfortunately, it didn't go down too well with fans.

Following the launch of Iron and Steel earlier this month, Undisputed players called the fighter pack insulting, mainly due to the current state of the game. While Steel City continues to charge $20 for new DLCs, many believe the studio should be focusing on gameplay improvements and bug fixes. The title has received a huge amount of backlash from the boxing community due to ongoing issues with punch tracking, desync issues, bugs, and much more.
