Undisputed developer Steel City Interactive says it is “investigating solutions” for multiplayer matches being affected by sync issues and the wildly overpowered power punches, which can currently break through an opponent’s guard with ease. Although Undisputed was in early access for almost two years, a major issue with power punches is causing fans to blast the game’s multiplayer as unplayable, but Steel City now says they’re working on a fix.
After first launching into Steam early access back in January 2023, Undisputed finally received a full release on October 11. The game’s 1.0 launch came with a plethora of fixes and improvements that aimed to make the transition from early access to full release substantial. From new gameplay animations to balance adjustments, Undisputed fans were eager to check out the many changes that came at launch. Unfortunately, despite the fact that the highly-anticipated boxing title was in early access for almost two years, there are some severe gameplay issues that have left the community disappointed.
How to Deal With Power Punchers In Undisputed
Heavy hitters can knock you out seconds after the opening bell; Learn how to outbox and defeat them in Undisputed.
Undisputed drew mixed reviews from players following its release on October 11, with a plethora of players complaining about the fighting title’s incredibly overpowered power punches, but Steel City Interactive has now said it is “investigating solutions” for the problem. In a new post on the Undisputed Twitter account, the studio said it is aware of issues around gameplay balancing online, including power punches breaking through blocks and reaction sync issues. Steel City went on to explain that it is “currently investigating solutions” and will share an update as soon as it has a fix.
Steel City Responds to Undisputed's Power Punch Issue
Undisputed’s power punches have been a hot topic in the community following the game’s release, with various Reddit posts and reviews highlighting the severe issue. For players who are daring enough to jump into an online game, whether it be ranked or casual, opponents are simply spamming power punches and immediately breaking through the guard to get a quick KO. It has made the game borderline unplayable, and fans are eager to see Steel City deploy a fix. Alongside the power punch issue, Undisputed fights often feel incredibly glitchy as the game appears to have some synchronization issues, which can lead to punches either not registering or landing successfully when the opponent is out of reach.
While Steel City is investigating both of these issues, it’s not the only controversy the studio has found itself entangled in recently. Shortly before launch, Steel City confirmed it would be removing Ryan Garcia from Undisputed, a decision that hasn’t gone down well with fans. The popular fighter found himself expelled from the WBC earlier this year after making controversial comments online. Steel City then followed in the footsteps of the WBC and completely removed the boxer from all modes.
