How to Trigger "A Solitary Resistance" Side Quest and Fight Gammel
The quest involving Gammel becomes available once the "Call to Action" main story quest is completed. Near the bridge southwest of Ouvrir Harbor and directly west of Fort Soligie, you will encounter the side quest "A Solitary Resistance," which ultimately culminates in a battle with Gammel and his gang of mercenaries.
Crossing this bridge triggers a cutscene showing the nearby town of Coquillage, where the town's guards are overwhelmed by mercenaries led by a Thief named Gammel. Outside the town, a character named Rolf is seen urging some women to find safety before he confronts the bandits. These women then recruit you to assist Rolf, initiating "A Solitary Resistance."
The player's mission is to aid Rolf in his endeavor to reclaim the town from the clutches of the Black Talon Bandits. - "Set him free"
- "Hand him to the town watch"
Although the immediate rewards for each choice appear similar, with the latter option seemingly more desirable, the decision has a significant impact on future gameplay.
Regardless of which choice you make, you will receive the following rewards for completing the quest “A Solitary Resistance”: Recruit’s Shortbow, Beckoning Bell, Cornia Militia. If you choose to hand over Gammel, you will receive an additional 10,000 War Funds, but don't be tempted.
