Dune: Awakening featured a host of ground and air vehicles at launch, for players to make journeying through the Hagga Basin and Deep Desert easier. With the Lost Harvest DLC, the game introduced a new ground vehicle called the "Treadwheel," which is an alternative to the Sandbike but offers greater acceleration and turning speeds. However, the Treadwheel is not unlocked from the get-go, and players will need to play through the Lost Harvest DLC mission to unlock its schematics.

How to Unlock Treadwheel Schematics in Dune: Awakening

Players can experience a host of new quests that were added as part of the Dune: Awakening Chapter 2 update and the Lost Harvest DLC. However, to unlock the Treadwheel as soon as possible, you'll need to complete all the Lost Harvest DLC missions. Here's a list of Lost Harvest missions that players can complete.

  • The Fall of Mithra
  • Villari's Prize
  • Digging Deeper
  • Secrets of the Past

After completing Secrets of the Past (final Lost Harvest mission), players will unlock the Treadwheel MK4 schematics. This doesn't just include the schematics for the Treadwheel, but also several essential modules, including Inventory MK2, Scanner MK2, and Boost MK4.

How to Craft the Treadwheel in Dune Awakening

There are three variants of the Treadwheel that players can craft in Dune Awakening. While players will automatically unlock the Treadwheel MK4 schematics after completing the Secrets of the Past DLC mission, they'll need to invest 45 and 60 Research Intel Points to unlock the Treadwheel MK5 and MK6 schematics, respectively.

Here's a list of all the crafting resources needed to make all Treadwheel variants and their optional modules in Dune: Awakening.

Players will need a Vehicle Fabricator to craft the Treadwheel MK4 and MK5 variants and an Advanced Vehicle Fabricator to craft the MK6 variant.

Can You Get the Treadwheel Without Buying Lost Harvest DLC in Dune Awakening?

Get Treadwheel in Dune Awakening Without DLC

While the Treadwheel is available to craft for players who've purchased the Lost Harvest DLC in Dune Awakening, there are also ways for players without the DLC to get their hands on a treadwheel. Here's how you can do it. Let's check them out below.

Purchasing Treadwheel Parts from Player Trade Market

If you have enough Solari, you can visit the Player Trade Market at either Arakeen or Harko Village in Dune Awakening. Open up the marketplace and search for Treadwheel parts in the one-man ground vehicle category. There's a high chance you'll spot the listing for vehicle parts over here. However, they might not be cheap, so look for a better deal before investing all your Solari.

Asking a Friend to Drop Crafted Treadwheel Parts

If you've got a friend who already owns the Lost Harvest DLC, you can ask them to craft the Treadwheel modules and drop them for you. This is a guaranteed way of claiming all the parts and building a Treadwheel for yourself. You can be a good friend and also provide them with the required parts to build a Treadwheel.

Becoming Co-Owner of a Treadwheel

If you're part of a larger guild in Dune Awakening, you can simply ask one of the members with high permissions to make you the co-owner of a guild-owned Treadwheel. This will save you time and effort, and you'll be able to experience the Treadwheel for yourself. If you like the experience, feel free to provide the member with the required materials to make the Treadwheel parts.
