Unsolved Mysteries Volume 3 is soon to return with nine new mysterious episodes for fans to ponder on. Ahead of the premiere of those episodes, however, Netflix has released a trailer teasing some of the mysteries that will be featured in this volume of the show.

Netflix has delved into the true crime genre extensively. Covering cases such as the death of Elisa Lam, a young woman who died unfortunately in an incident involving a hotel water supply tower, the streaming service has dozens and dozens of documentaries showcasing all manner of cases. It acquired the rights to reboot the Unsolved Mysteries series, a show which originally ran from 1987 to 2010 on various channels, in 2019 and aired the first volume of the series in 2020. The series covers not only instances of true crime (disappearances, murders, suspicious deaths), but also covers mysterious happenings such as hauntings, UFOs, and cryptids.

The trailer Unsolved Mysteries volume 3, posted on Netflix's YouTube account, promises even more true crime, ghouls, and strange creatures. Three of the nine episodes will premiere on October 18. The episodes comprising this release are titled "Mystery at Mile Marker 45," "Something in the Sky," and "Body in Bags." Meanwhile, the second batch of episodes will release on October 25 and will comprise of "Death in a Vegas Motel," "Paranormal Rangers," and "What Happened to Josh?"

Lastly, the seventh through ninth episodes of volume 3 will drop on November 1. These episodes will be titled "Body in the Bay," "The Ghost in Apartment 14," and "Abducted by a Parent." The series, as always, will feature interviews with those involved in the unsolved mystery of the episode. It seems that as with Unsolved Mysteries Volume 2, Netflix is aiming to align the releases of Volume 3 with the Halloween season.

The Unsolved Mysteries reboot has led to some advancement in certain cold cases. One of these includes that of Alonzo Brooks, an African American man who attended a party in La Cygne, Kansas, where he encountered a racially-motivated altercation from another partygoer. Brooks later went missing that same night, and his body was not found for weeks despite searching by the local police department and authorities. Curiously, his body was found quickly after his family performed a search of their own and his body was discovered in the immediate vicinity of where the party was held.

After being featured on Unsolved Mysteries, producers received many emails about the case. It eventually led to Brooks' body being exhumed and his case being reopened. Hopefully, it may lead to justice in Brooks' case. With this new batch of episodes, perhaps other cold cases can similarly receive attention and breakthroughs can be made so that the victims can receive a measure of peace.

Unsolved Mysteries Volume 3 releases its first three episodes on October 18, its second batch on October 25, and its third on November 1, 2022, all on Netflix.
