Bellum
A Next Gen War Simulator From The Creators of Arma
- Developers: Astarte Industries Inc.
- Platforms: PC
- Release Date: TBA
- Demo/Beta Available: No
Bellum is a tactical warfare simulator, built in Unreal Engine 5 by Astarte Industries, a group founded by the creators of Arma. This game doesn't have a single huge map; although the deployment mission consists of an open-world area with designated targets that players need to occupy, control, or eliminate, following the principles of true tactical combat.
Players will need to place themselves in advantageous positions, plan strategies, deploy mortar structures, bombard buildings, and fight against vicious AI-empowered enemies. Players will also receive 'orders' like besiege the enemy to exhaust them (attrition tactics), and advanced electronic warfare to seek and destroy. Every single match will be a different Area of Operation, and the devs have revealed that roles will be key for the survival of the teams. They will need to use a complex medical system to treat wounds and understand the basics of military tactics in order to thrive.

Gray Zone Warfare is one of the most brutal war-simulation experiences in an open-world game that players will be able to find. The game is currently on Early Access (only on Steam), but its full release version is coming in the near future. The developers (MADFINGER) also plan on a console release soon, so this title will become quite a treat for those who love games like Call of Duty and Battlefield. But readers might be wondering: What makes this game so special? For starters, it's accurate ballistics and realistic visuals. Players will need to learn how to assemble, charge, and aim a weapon even before they set foot into the depths of this jungle warzone. The second is that enemies are not 'dumb,' the game's AI (in the case of PvE enemies) is deadly: They can spot players, track them, and kill them in seconds if they are not careful.
They will also use advanced encirclement tactics and comb the entire jungle, alerting other enemies to follow them in their hunt. Stealth is a must, but so is the ability to observe the environment and gather information. A dim shine on the horizon might be the scope of a sniper, aiming at them. And that's not even the end of it: Beyond the starting areas, it's a free-for-all where three factions collide in search of loot, objectives, and territory control. The game is so realistic that the other players don't have distinctive visual tags to recognize who is an ally or who is an enemy, so if players don't pay attention to their GPS, they could end up killing an ally from the same faction or stumble on an enemy posing as one, leading them to a trap. If players are hurt, they will need to use a full medkit that consists of gauze, a sewing kit, painkillers, and morphine: The whole deal. It's not just that the game is hard, but it is realistic and punishing enough to ensure players learn to adapt, fight, and survive.
