Upcoming Switch 2 Games For 2026

The Nintendo Switch 2 had a relatively decent 2025, at least for a new console that is still building momentum. We got some great first-party titles and a couple of solid ports; however, if everything goes right, last year should be merely a precursor to a better sequel. Although the year is still taking shape, there are already quite a few exciting upcoming Switch 2 games for 2026, particularly for the first quarter. While not stacked with first-party projects so far, the Switch 2 game lineup has plenty of third-party offerings, including major titles that will release simultaneously with other consoles.

Whether you have already bought a Switch 2 and are looking for your next timesink, or if you are searching for that one new game that will justify picking up the console, you will want to keep an eye on all the titles coming soon to Nintendo's latest hardware. Let's go through all the major games announced for 2026.

The focus is on Switch 2 games confirmed for North America. Japanese-only releases will not be included, unless they are confirmed to be coming to the West.

January 2026 Switch 2 Games

Dispatch, Animal Crossing, FF7, & More

Compared to every other system, the Switch 2's January 2026 lineup is fairly small, but that is normal due to the console's infancy. That said, Nintendo has put together a respectable video game calendar for the month, which will get going with a new version of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This won't be just a straightforward port either, as it has new features and tweaks.

If you are not particularly interested in revisiting AC:NH, you can always pick up a JRPG like FF7 Remake Intergrade or The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon. The former is the bigger game, but the latter is a new title rather than a port of an old release. Dispatch is also making its way to Switch 2.

February 2026 is going to be an all-around great month, and that includes the Switch 2. In terms of exclusives, Mario Tennis Fever is a relatively big deal, provided somebody generally enjoys the franchise's sports games. However, the more exciting releases are third-party titles, particularly Resident Evil Requiem. Besides being huge in a vacuum, the fact that Capcom's game will launch on the Switch 2 is a real statement of intent.

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, Renaimal, and Yakuza Kiwami 3's remake are also big deals.

Pokemon Pokopia, Fatal Frame, & More

Another pretty good month for Switch 2, March 2026 will be defined by a few sizable titles, including Pokemon Pokopia. A farming/life sim set in Game Freak's absurdly successful universe, Pokopia sounds like a dream game. If you want a creature-collection JRPG, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection should be a safe bet. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is also an exciting prospect.
