V Rising is a game where players seek out ever more dangerous V Blood Carriers in pursuit of power. To take on these growing threats, they need to gather resources and craft more powerful armor and weapons. A new resource in the full release of the game, Pristine Hide, has left many veteran players scratching their heads, in addition to confusing new players.

Pristine Hide is necessary to craft the game-changing Dawnthorn Armor, which is a must-have for taking on bosses in Act Three and Four. To farm it effectively, players need to kill specific enemy types. Then, to refine it, an elusive V Blood Carrier must be killed. Keep reading for tips to farm and use Pristine Hide.

V Rising: How To Get Silk

Here's how V Rising players can learn the recipe for Silk and get the ingredients to craft it.

Where To Get Pristine Hide

Pristine Hide is a late-game resource added in version 1.0 of V Rising. To get it, you will need to kill enemies of specific types. Enemies that drop Pristine Hide include:

  • Werewolves
  • Lurkers
  • Cursed Wildlife (i.e., cursed wolves)

These enemies are primarily found in the Cursed Forest but may spawn in the Dunley Farmlands region as well. While Cursed Wildlife sometimes drops Thick Hide instead, Lurkers and Werewolves always drop Pristine Hide.

The Best Way To Farm Pristine Hide

A player walking into gracefall village, alongside the location marked on the map

Because Werewolves and Lurkers always drop Pristine Hide, these enemies are the most reliable way to farm the resource. As such, going to places that are densely populated with them is ideal. However, Werewolves are generally a better way to farm Pristine Hide than Lurkers because they are easier to fight, and more centrally located on the map.

Werewolves spawn throughout the Dunley Farmlands region at night, so wandering around off the road will usually net you some Pristine Hide. These spawns can be tricky to find, however, and Werewolves found this way are likely to run off. To get the most concentrated amount of Pristine Hide, head to Gracefall Village, where Werewolves spawn constantly. The only danger of this method is accidentally provoking Wilfred the Village Elder, who resides in this location, but players can leave the village to drop aggro.

V Rising: How To Get Dark Silver

Dark Silver is likely the toughest resource to get ahold of in all of V Rising. Players will have to go through a long journey to get ahold of it.

How To Use Pristine Hide

Once players have Pristine Hide, it can be turned into Pristine Leather using Mutant Grease in the Tannery. To unlock the recipe, defeat V Blood Carrier Ben the Wanderer (who roams the Cursed Forest). Pristine Leather is then used to craft the Dawnthorn Armor and repair your gear. It will also be used to craft Bat Leather, Cloth, and buildings like the Anatheum.

Most important however, is undoubtedly the Dawnthorn Armor, this (and it's upgrades) will be the gear set that takes them to V Rising's end game - happy hunting!
